just another rape!
Jun 1st, 2019 at 2:40pm

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/central-coast/liam-huxley-jailed-for...

Liam Huxley had returned from a year-and-a-half overseas where he was using ecstasy most weekends and loved getting drunk at any opportunity.

He had been invited to a friend’s 21st birthday party at a rural property near Ourimbah in October 2017 where he was hoping to score with a girl he’d had his eye on.

But when she turned up on the arm of another bloke he started drinking hard and tried not to show his disappointment.

He struck up a conversation with a girl, who he said told him she was 17, and they flirted.

She was cold, so he offered his flannelette shirt.

He sat with arm around her shoulder, she touched his leg.

But she started feeling unwell from the grog and went into a cabin on the property to lie down on a couch.

Huxley, a well respected junior soccer referee, followed her in and lifted her legs across his lap.

He started to assault her with his hand until someone else walked in and the girl, who was actually just 15, left for the main house to go to bed.

She sent a text to a friend complaining she had been “touched”.

After 12 drinks and one “cone” of cannabis that evening, Huxley wanted to get his shirt back and entered the room where the girl was asleep under the covers.

He was followed into the room by one of the girl’s friends who wanted to check on her.

The girl woke up and asked her friend to leave because she wanted to speak to Huxley about what happened earlier.

But he walked around to the side of the bed, climbed on top of her and raped her “vigorously”, scratching her back, a court heard.

The shocked girl called a friend and told another via Facebook Messanger “he f...d me” before her friend’s mum came to collect them both.

During the ride home the girl disclosed what happened to her by typing notes into her phone. Her friend’s mother then offered to take her to hospital where she underwent a Sexual Assault Investigation Kit (SAIK) examination and spoke to police.

Huxley, a former Gosford High School student who lost interest in studies and was expelled in Year 9, was later arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault.

In January this year, on the first day of his trial Huxley pleaded guilty to two counts of having sexual intercourse with a person aged between 14 and 16.

The other charges were withdrawn.

Huxley had returned to Australia after a year overseas. Picture: Facebook
Huxley, now aged 22, was yesterday sentenced in Gosford District Court to a year and eight months jail with a non-parole period of 10 months.

Fighting back tears Huxley, who had been on bail, was led into custody.

Reading from the girl’s victim impact statement, Judge Tanya Bright said the rape caused her to “throw up my meals”, quit her job and became alienated from her friends.

Judge Bright said it was the “hardest thing she had been through” and it would likely affect her for “the rest of her life”.

In sentencing Huxley, Judge Bright said his offending was below the high range of objective seriousness, he had good prospects of rehabilitation and had come to “fully understand his offending”.

He will be eligible for parole in March 2020.

as the judge has said  this young women will be very lucky to get over this...we cannot be sure what goes through a rapists mind   at the time  but it surely is never concern for the women involved....and how this act might affect her for the rest of her life..

I often wonder what do the parents of these young men feel?.. we never hear from them   or the parents of the victim....I dont believe they are untouched by these events.....perhaps if we heard how it affects them   maybe some young men would actually think twice...from what I can gather most rapes have a certain amount of planning to them....

she asked her concerned friend to leave

to leave her alone with the guy she claimed had molested her

Whether or not she consented doesn't matter because she was under the age of consent.

Why wasn't someone charged for permitting underage drinking of alcohol?

I had a visit from the police the morning after a party in 1977. They had found two drunken kids wandering around near my house who told them they had trespassed into my backyard after the party ended and stole cans of beer. However, I was not charged because I had not known or consented to their access to alcohol.

Perhaps the rapist was a student of the Haji Gordon love techniques and failed to satisfy his conquest.

Oh I don't know.  Sounds as if he gave good value despite having drunk half a brewery

He appears like a typical desperate graduate from the Haji Gordon school of love with a practical session on British women partners who are often stated to have less animation during lovemaking than a cadaver.

Still fishing for an invite to Chez Gordon? You realize he doesn't give anal pap smears, right?

Can you please elaborate on why rape has anything to do with me?

Is rape a postgraduate course?

do you believe a girl who is trying to be  huhummm "mature"  at a party   deserves what she get???...

what mainly bothers me this young man is 22..he has traumatised a young women  perhaps for the rest of her life..

but also he has ruined his own....I dont understand why young men do not understand rape and going to jail  means you have a criminal record......

what message is escaping these young men.??

as older men you should at least have a small incling into what could possibly be the answer into stopping them crossing this line...

I ask where are the parents?   I dont care how old a kid is   the parents  almost always feel guilt angst horror disappointment......maybe if they hear how stricken the parents are it could stop some of this..

A lot of parents don't give a toss. When my sister was 12 she had a problem with a bunch of boys. She told mum and mum said: you shouldn't have let them do that to you

I know of lots of parents like that. They don't give a toss

absolutely  I agree 100%

but do you think maybe if they were involved in the court process... it would wake them up..well hopefully..   not one size does fit all I know that..

but look at this young mans life from now on....??????..

rape is a crime...young men need to be made to be more accountable....and so do parents of young men..

its all well and good telling females to beware dont walk alone dont drink go to parties.....and dress proper.....but what signals are sent to young men??????.......are they not ashamed of what they do??? does it not bother them to have a record?....do they in fact have no empathy whatever???????.....

I am wondering thats all.....
yes you mum was wrong I dont of course know what era that happened in....if it is recent then someone needs to have a talk with your mum.....if in the past, sadly thats what all thought the female did something to encourage it......

times have changed spot... I just hope it didnt do irreparable damage to your sister.
