Vulgar words and slogans on clothing
May 14th, 2019 at 9:38am

This is over the top, but the use of vulgar words is becoming common.

I once read an article in the 1980s which cited a couple of humorous cases where the writer was demonstrating that Asians were wearing clothing with words and slogans they did not understand.

1. A girl wore a t-shirt with a picture of a cat's head sticking out from under a pile of coal with the words "The coal man dumped a load on my pussy".

2. The toothpaste currently marketed in Asia as 'Darlie' was once labeled 'Darkie' and the advertising had pictures of a black man in caricature. An Asian woman was chased by black people when she wore one of these t-shirts in the USA in the 1980s.

Years ago, there used to be one particular t-shirt for sale in Perth shops with fancy Japanese characters/writing on the front.

All the young girls thought it was trendy, and they'd wear those t-shirts everywhere.

When translated into English, the t-shirt read "Stupid round eyed bitch".

True story.

So?

LTYC you don't think that wouldn't attract complaint if worn in public?

I'd say the wearer would face public obscenity regulations?

I have a TShirt my daughter gave far worse than that TShirt you posted.

In fact it would refer to you perfectly.

My friend is a screen printer. Back in the early 2000s he rolled off a hundred shirts one night that read Joseph was a Pimp,  Mary was the whore. Black shirt,  white writing.
He sold out in a week. I wore mine once and recieved mixed opinions.

I still have a weedbok,  cocaine can't beat the feeling and adahash shirts stashed away in a suitcase in the shed. When my kids are old enough then they may want them... If not they may be worth something one day due to the saturation of hurt feelings in this day and age.
