Oh, dearie, dearie, me.  Poor, poor, Hammer.  I know I've told you at least once, I was never in Vietnam during the war.  I was too young.  I served 1977-1988.  When did you serve?  Oh. that's right, you've never served the country you proclaim you love.   Strange isn't it, me the supposedly unAustralian traitor who actually gave his time and would have given his life to defend a low life like you, Hammer, the coward who lives in his mother's basement.   Roll Eyes

So if you weren't in the Army you're not a true Australian?

And now you're a hero?

Are you trying to make the Army look bad?

Oh, dearie, dearie, me. little chicken.  Erecting a strawman argument, really?  It doesn't become you but is typical of a child's thinking on such matters.  When you are willing to debate what I am actually saying, rather than what you imagine I am saying, we might be able to have a discussion.  What you should do is read Hammer's views on what constitutes a "real Australian."  Until then, run along back to the little kiddies' playground where children like you can play in the mud all day long to your delight.   Roll Eyes

You continually imply it, Hammer.

Interesting use of an apostrophe there, Hammer.

Who was doing the invading?  The US and it's allies or the North Vietnamese?

I severely doubt you have much to worry about from Asians, Hammer.   Roll Eyes

Oh, dearie, dearie, me.  Poor, poor, Soren.  As usual, nothing of value to add to a thread.  All you do is throw mud in the vain hope that some will stick, right?  Well, again, your resorting to ad hominem insults has failed.   Tsk, tsk, run along back to your little kiddies' playground where you can roll in that lovely mud, all day long, just like a little kiddie, does.    Roll Eyes

I would have to reach into my right front pocket for the Kimber micro9 that rides there in a pocket holster and shoot from cover if the opportunity presents itself. The laser makes it possible to reach out more accurately. Yes, I actually have that exact model, I practice with it and carry it regularly.

If it is posted as a "gun free zone" I probably won't be there in the first place.

Thank the MSM when these shootings happen, the psychopath will be a household name before sundown. The World will know that he was here and his name will be spoken constantly for days. Dead or alive, he is no longer a nobody, infamy is as good as fame to these monsters.

You aren't a school child, Mort.  School kids aren't allowed guns IIRC.  How are they going to shoot someone who is shooting them in large numbers?   You didn't find it disturbing that they had to talk about how to hide from a shooter?  Like all gun nuts you think the only answer is "more Guns!"   Personally, I think the answer is less guns, particularly in the hands of lunatics and wannabes.

It is so sad that kids have to be taught how to hide to save their lives...   Roll Eyes

Far too many people feel the need to take some variety of drugs everyday to cope with the stress of modern life apparently. This and many other of the problems in our modern culture are a result of substituting chemicals for learning how to deal with life. It doesn't take much to desensitize someone to the suffering of others and killing is the ultimate desensitization.

Guns are not the problem, an immoral decaying culture is!

Have you ever thought about this?

Our body has hormones and other chemicals designed to make us react appropriately to stimuli. Eg, hunger, sexual behavior, fear, aggression, sleep, happiness.

These chemical responses developed over how ever long it took, and those who had the right balance were genetically successful and passed their genes on. These genetic traits are hereditary.

Now we are living indoors, we don't have sunlight. We take vitamin D supplements. Everyone showers everyday. We don't smell. Others don't have a scent for our brain to detect. These parts of our brains are surely going to atrophy. We don't activate them.

Further we are not social. We socialise in the lunch break. But this is not social. This is modern. We are not laying in the grass having a cuddle in the sunshine. We are having a coffee and a foccacia and going back indoors to:

Identify patterns on a screen.

We are not designed for this. No wonder there are so many pharmacologically reliant people in society. Society is very sick. Blame the environment 100%.

This is very very unnatural.
