I would have to reach into my right front pocket for the Kimber micro9 that rides there in a pocket holster and shoot from cover if the opportunity presents itself. The laser makes it possible to reach out more accurately. Yes, I actually have that exact model, I practice with it and carry it regularly.

If it is posted as a "gun free zone" I probably won't be there in the first place.

You aren't a school child, Mort.  School kids aren't allowed guns IIRC.  How are they going to shoot someone who is shooting them in large numbers?   You didn't find it disturbing that they had to talk about how to hide from a shooter?  Like all gun nuts you think the only answer is "more Guns!"   Personally, I think the answer is less guns, particularly in the hands of lunatics and wannabes.

It is so sad that kids have to be taught how to hide to save their lives...   

I think the solution is very simple. Mandatory gun training for school children. I think pre school training  for kids might work, in much the same way we condition infants to the water while they are infants and prevent their drowning they could condition their infants to gun violence by innoculating them to actual guns while they are young.

Far too many people feel the need to take some variety of drugs everyday to cope with the stress of modern life apparently. This and many other of the problems in our modern culture are a result of substituting chemicals for learning how to deal with life. It doesn't take much to desensitize someone to the suffering of others and killing is the ultimate desensitization.

Guns are not the problem, an immoral decaying culture is!
