A couple of things ...

1. they are white.
2. they each have "belly-buttons".

Wink

p.s.

The very term "woman" is a ridiculously sexist twisting of the facts.

Meaning "out of man" ... what a load of rubbish!

Believe me, I've been at the birth of both of my children, they did NOT come out of me!

Thankfully!

Woman does not mean "out of man". It comes from Old English "wife man" meaning "female human being". Man was not a gendered word, it just meant a human being. The gendered term for a male human being was were as in werewolf, weregild.

Interestingly enough girl started off as a non-gendered word too.

Yeah, the belly-buttons suggest that they each underwent a period of gestation, in a womb.

......which as models for a painting, they both did.       Wink

gestation = = the process of carrying or being carried in the womb between conception and birth.

In the Bible ...

Genesis 2:23

The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”

KJV
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

ESV
Then the man said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."

NLT
“At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’”

Umm... Are you a bible basher? The bible was not written in Old English. I'm giving you the meanings of the words. What they were originally in whatever language Genesis was written in and translated from is irrelevant. Woman does not mean "out of man". It means female human, nothing more or less.

We still use the non-gendered word "man" in certain cases. Manslaughter, mankind, are two examples. Take your angst out on the religious if you feel the need but the language does not deserve your anger. Woman is female human from Old English wife meaning female and man meaning (non-gendered)human being..

I'm an atheist, not a Bible basher.

Point being, the Biblical context talks about a woman being "out of man" which is, of course, absolute crap.  Wink

Correct answer. Yes Adam and Eve would not have had belly buttons.

Also correct that they shouldn't be white. Reminds me of how Jesus has been turned into a blue eyed blonde by many artists when he should in fact look arabic.

Who is to say that Adam and ever would not have been deliberately created with belly buttons so that they would appear like their children ?

Adam & Eve were the first JEWS in the name of 'writing' the Jewish family tree down for 'immortality' sake.

They were not the first 'humans'.

But my good man, you originally said that woman means out of man with no context and what you said was incorrect, then you shifted the goal posts.

You are welcome.  Wink

See what you have in ""? You did not quote the bible, you just made ill-informed statements. What I have quoted of you there is fundamentally wrong.

If you believe the bible stories, yes the first woman did come from a male. His rib apparently. This has nothing to do with what you watched when you saw your children being born or me mine, not all women after are cloned and genetically engineered from a mans rib, just the first. God works in mysterious ways.
