While Melbourne temperatures were pleasant yesterday, extreme heat in the rest of the country made it Australia's hottest day on record (according to preliminary figures).

That's calculated by averaging maximum temperatures across the country. Australia could break the new record *again* over coming days.

The average maximum temperature was 40.9 degrees on Tuesday, beating the previous record of 40.3 on January 7 in 2013.

The maps in the video are forecast maps for 18,19 & 20/12/2019

Perhaps you shouldn't enter these debates if you cant even read maps properly Grin

Even non-scientists understand that coming out of the LIA and with the first temperature recording equipment that would happen. Wink

Unless you want to go back to the LIA. More people die from cold than heat.
