Rhine River Cruise
Feb 25th, 2019 at 6:51pm

Well I'm booked in for a Cruise along the Rhine River from Amsterdam to Budapest in April.
19 days of Euro cruising.

Imagine if Australia had a waterway like the Rhine and all that was along it was as interesting as what Europe has.

Nope. Too much money apparently.  Tongue

Well, Australia has not much to look at from a river cruise. Europe does.

Which doesn't mean that Australia should have river cruises like Europe. The best thing about Australia, for tourists, is that it is nothing like Europe. That's the attraction. It would be hardly worth coming here from Europe, and the Northern Hemisphere generally,  if Australia was like Europe. Nobody comes to Australia to have a European river cruise.

Watch out for pickpockets when you get off the boat.

The Australian version would be called a goon cruise.

You're right Frank and I totally agree. Why travel somewhere to get the same experience/sights as you could here.
But it would be nice to have our own 'style' and versions of 'River Culture'.
For a while, the Murray River was looking like something neat with the Paddle-Steamers, etc... but something killed that off like an OH&S and 'making the States all the same' issue.

The best Goon Cruise is along Georges River.
