A message from statesman Bill

This is a dark day for Australian banking, and a terrible indictment on the greed in the industry.

The final report of the Banking Royal Commission has uncovered unconscionable, corrupt and potentially criminal behaviour in the banking and financial services sector.

It is a comprehensive blueprint to clean up the industry, restore Australians’ trust in their banks, and put the interests of consumers first.

The Liberals voted against the Banking Royal Commission 26 times. Today, they’ve shown they still won’t get tough on the banks.

On too many issues, the Government does not accept the Royal Commission’s recommendation, does not propose adequate action, or delays action.

So we need your help to put pressure on the government to clean up the industry and protect Australians from being ripped off – will you share this graphic and help spread the news?

The Liberals tried to stop this Royal Commission from happening. They cannot be allowed to go soft on the banks or go slow on implementing the reforms.

So will you help us spread the news about the findings of the Banking Royal Commission and put pressure on the government to act?

As Commissioner Hayne says in his final report: “The financial services industry is too important to the economy of the nation to allow what has happened in the past to continue or to happen again.”

Finally, I’d like to pay tribute to the victims of banking misconduct, the whistleblowers and the advocates.

To the individuals, families, small business owners and farmers – the Royal Commission would not have happened without you.

We will have a better, stronger and fairer banking system for all Australians because of you.

If you weren't so lazy, you'd find that Labor also has backing from the big end of town

One example: the ANZ bank donates as much money to the Labor Party as it does to the Liberal Party

And Union donations to Labor are miniscule compared to big business donations to Labor

Yet they're after Labor NSW for $100,000 from the chinks... and someone even said there were fears Labor would make it up (it's quarantined pending investigation) from Union donations.... well DUH!

So the LNP can gather as much funding as it likes from any source, but Labor is not allowed to do so.... sure, sure.... I'll go with that..... every damned day!
