There is no shortage of water in Australia -
the water that falls in the tropics mostly gets washed out to sea.
We need a giant North South pipeline to bring the water South.
The pipe needs to be large & made of stainless steel so it will last forever.

How much water is wasted in the tropics?
Is it 10 Sydney harbors full every year?

Having said that, it's probably exactly who they would bring in as 'experts'.

There are many around the world.

A good start would be the experts who helped transform Singapore from a place that had no fresh water resources to one that pumps in 60% from Malaysia and the rest from its own geo-forming transformation of resevoirs and 'canal' Stormwater systems that encapsulate a region that gains x3 times more rainfall than England.

It's all about 'planning' and Singapore is a well planned region. Sadly for Singapore though, it doesn't know how to say "No - we are full." and because of that, their ship will list and sink, so to speak - because of over-population.

So how many more times the overall rainfall in Australia would that be? And what would they know about water, or lack thereof, in Australia?

the murray starts in QLd..... this is how crazy they are in Qld...

they grow wheat in places where it hasnt rained in 7years..... they are busy hoping this flood rain will get to those farms...... Roll Eyes

it makes sense to the good people of Qld...

their dams are over flowing and adding to the flooding who would have thought that would happen.. Shocked

the lunatics are definitely in charge up there.. Angry

because Qld is well known for flooding for years and years and years......and even more years....and the water goes down the drain to the ocean year after year after year... now its mud and a lot of nutrients are also being washed away...not into dams... or even streams because there are still parts up there parched.....all I know is if I worked my guts out just to watch crops and cattle die from lack of water and had to watch that news every night......I think I would blow my brains out.....

reality is cruel mother nature is cruel.....we were given the tools OUR BRAIN CELLS....to help us make a go of it......instead we whinge and complain and have ROYALS COMM into it then play pass the buck....

maybe that works for you!

the flooding is happening 1000 kilometres away..... what will dams do ?
Ohh course the biggist problem is the great dividing range most of the rain happens east of it and the murry river souse is west .
r u suggesting a pipeline to Toowoomba ?
will Queensland pay for it or the Commonwealth or the 4 states involved (thanks Lee now I know sa is in the mix)
I sense your frustration Cods... but just pointing out what is wrong or being vague like we need Experts doesn't seam to help much.....

why anyone would think the Feds would have more brains than the States I will never know...

lets be honest they are all EMPIRE BUILDERS.. its about VOTES...

we seem capable of building Gas pipe lines across our hostile terrain why not water pipe lines....

with massive pumps powered by SOLAR....

instead of DAM floodgates being opened sending zillions of buckets of more water onto already flooded homes....which is what happens now.... Cheesy

when these places have their massive floods... what usually every 30 years nothing stops the water..... How big would a pipeline have to be to stop flooding in one of these events ?
I dont think we r advanced enough to be able to harness these massive floods. they r just 2 big for us as humans to make a diferance. Wink
