We have statues of some historical figures like Cook and Flinders.  Why do we have one for Flinders' cat?

It kept their morale up on a very long and arduous voyage?

so nothing to do with the cat keeping him company whilst he was imprisoned?

That's all the cat was?

delight and pleasure of his fellow voyagers

I guess there is Aussie's "their".

Did Flinders circumnavigate the continent with only his cat? This seems to be what you are implying. Did you skip primary school? If not, make your pointless point.

You made the point.  Who were 'they?'

no one said 'that was all' Set

but do you think being locked away for 6 or 7 years with no one but the cat for company, that might have influenced his opinion of the cat???

If John Smith sailed around the world back in the day.
He would have a pet 'Weevil' for company.

Not the point, Aussie was asking about "their" in the circumnavigation of our continent. To him there was no "their" in that or if there was he was denying it by asking "who is the their?"

'Their?'

He was alone?

He had his cat for which they made a statue.  So...who else made up the 'their' you mentioned?

It obviously mentions the "their" in the epithet given by Flinders.

The things you people will try and make something out of astounds me. Can't wait for Aussie's try at making what he said even half way reasonable. Show us your Ace Aussie?

Gawd...such a simple question arising from what you posted smart arse.  Let's have another go.

Who are 'they,' Setanta.  Name them.

(whoops, sorry edit.)

Google who he sailed with. Seriously all you are going to to do is ask me that? I know the name of the ship but I can't name the crew but what does that matter? You know who "their/they" is in Flinders' own words posted above.

He sailed that cat round the world.

I know, it's Aussie that thinks he only sailed with a cat as his crew. I think he might have questions for you.

Wasn't it Flinder's grave that they recently just discovered by mistake via a construction site in the UK?

Indeed I do know at least one of the crew, one far more relevant than a pissant cat.  (Hence the Thread.)

So, over to you smart arse.  Who was he?
