Finland!

I want to go to Finland!

I watched a Greg Grainger special on Finland. It might be a good number of years old. But it still looked like a neat place and that Greg Grainger always provides a good angle of both Tourist and Traveller. He also gave a good look into the Samoi People and their existence, along with life on Svalberd Islands.

Finland looked impressive - and still 'uncommercialised' by cliche Tourist traps and exploitation (x10 Cafe Latte's in every scenic spot).
It looks like one could have a good 4 week holiday there and still get the traveller experience of dealing with locals off the cuff.

As an Australian and a very hot Australian with these heatwaves - the idea of spending a summer in the nice snowy region of Finland, seems a very good idea.
They seemed like Outback Australians - without the heat and deserts... and flies.

So. If I'm off overseas next - it will be Finland.

Here's one thing that bugs me. I love just Japan, you could call me a Japanophile. I hate just about everything to do with India yet I've been to India and not Japan. How bizarre.

I wouldn't travel anywhere with Aussie.
And if I was forced to.
I would make the necessary arrangements to have him detained at Customs and have every orifice of his investigated and his statements recorded concerning him trying to smuggle Indian women back into Australia upon his return.

Never been to Nippon/Nihon.
Does sound nice - but toooo expensive for my liking just to experience 'some things' of tradition, beyond everything else being the same as what I get here.

I'm going to book for next Summer around about this 'heatwave' time of the year. Finland looks the ultimate 'chill' factor.

But recently, due to Tourism Propaganda - they are now one of the happiest. Strange - the sudden turn-around? Either way, I reckon I would love it there!
