The initiative reflects China's deep innovation and technology ambitions and also aligns with the country's Made in China 2025 masterplan: a 10-year, transformative roadmap for the future of the country's manufacturing sector.

As a global trading hub, Guangdong Province alone exported more than $US640 billion ($887 billion) of goods last year — its cities of Donguan and Foshan are home to many of the region's factories, while neighbouring Shenzhen is already colloquially known as China's Silicon Valley.

The world's longest sea-crossing bridge, linking Hong Kong and Macau to the mainland, which officially opened last October, also binds the region together as a major driver of future economic growth.

Well out near Broken Hill was to be Australia's Silicon Valley once the Mines slowed right down.

Broken Hill is well placed to Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney & Brisbane respectively in regards to logistics and despatch.

But some Australians have thought outside the square of Silicon Valley are are going for something just further out from Broken Hill that originated long before Silicon Valley became well known. Something along the lines of an Australian 'technological' region development.

AIMLESS EXTENTION OF KNOWLEDGE HOWEVER, WHICH IS WHAT I THINK YOU REALLY MEAN BY THE TERM 'CURIOSITY', IS MERELY INEFFICIENCY. I AM DESIGNED TO AVOID INEFFICIENCY.

So many chinese coming into Australia and lots of $$$ to buy up property and milkbars but I don't see any investments in high tech coming from Beijing. They are keeping the top shelf stuff back in china and sending out the sh.t here in the form of tax avoiding cash service businesses and these pollies here are making fools out of themselves and everyone else about the so called investment dollars coming from china Sad
