Monetisation of NYE
Dec 31st, 2018 at 6:16pm

A reserve not too far from me where I've watched the fireworks for most of my life is now fenced off with an entry charge for $38 for adults and $20 for a child. No BYO allowed.

Time for an orange vest protest.

Public land

Paid for by the public

Used as a money making exercise by an immoral grubberment.

They are quite happy to expect you to do things for the grubberment free of charge.

But the grubberment charges for everything they do.

Unless you are an illegal immigrant, senior public servant or politician.

May they all rot in hell

BTW this predates NSW Libs and it's a growing trend of society.

Didn't you just say in another thread that the exorbitant real estate prices in your area "kept the riff raff out"?

Perhaps this is more of your council's intent?

You don't approve all of a sudden?

The original goal of the council charging access to this particular site was to recoup the cost of supplying port-a-loos and rubbish removal needed as this particular place attracts thousands of people from all over Sydney.

The first time they did it I believe the cost was $40 for a family pass which seems reasonable.

I can't see the justification for this in the city Harbour foreshore areas tho.

And the price of real estate has nothing to do with the local council.

Ah you're back to your old lying ways.

I said the high real estate prices has the effect of keeping the riff raff, namely the budget Irish, English, Brazzo backpackers.

You're trying to spin it that I dictate the price of RE ?

Just how desperate are you?

High prices to attend events means the riff raff don't attend, no?
