Xmas Carols
Dec 18th, 2018 at 7:08pm

Is this one of the most beautiful Xmas Carols?

I will post more.
Please post some that you like?

Words start at 0:50

Ding dong dong
Ding dong dong…
Ding dong merrily on high
In heaven the bells are ringing:
Ding dong! verily the sky
Is riven with angel singing
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

E'en so here below, below
Let steeple bells be swung
And "Io, io, io!"
By priest and people singing
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

Pray you, dutifully prime
Your matin chyme, ye ringers;
May you beautifully rime
Your evetime song, ye singers
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

Jingle Bells is neither a Christmas carol nor a Christmas song. Jingle Bells, as we call it today, was written in 1857 and called "One Horse Open Sleigh", with words by James Pierpont. It was written to be sung at US Thanksgiving time and is linked to the sleigh races held in Medford, Massachusetts.

Correct.

It has nothing to do with Christmas, yet most people name it as the quintessential Christmas carol.

Greggy - you haven't got a clue -
