The end of the world is nigh.

Although over population would destroy our planet, global warming and the toxic pollutants will destroy us first.

The oceans are absorbing heat and crap, if one part of our delicate ecological chain which needs thousands of years to adapt, not just a couple of hundred years, breaks down then Earth will be like Mars before we know it.

Life is a miracle, we need to stick around long enough to find a way to send it out there.

Why?

The answer is obvious, you just need to do some soul searching.

Let's hear it then.

Your soul is your own, unless you have sold it.

White flag accepted.

Is it worth selling your soul Greg.

I don't need the cash.

What about your rent next week?

You can skip it if you like.

It'll give you some extra spending money for Christmas.

White flag accepted.

I beg to differ
Look at the population growth graphs.
With every additional person, more food must be produced, more methane from cows, less oxygen generating plants remain as the land is filled with grain crops.
People breath in oxygen and breath out........carbon dioxide.

Isn't this co2 what all the climate scientists are continually warning us about.
And with all the oxygen producing trees and sea life being consumed to feed an out of control population explosion, it will only get worse.

We must stop now

We must stop the aid, allow the overpopulated countries to get their population under control.

Not by genocide, but by compulsory sterilization.

Surely chemical sterilization can be achieved and given to over breeding nations.

If we stop the aid until their population decreases, they will put some effort I to achieving this end.

But while we give them more and more, they will expect more and more.

It's a good point.

How does one determine if a country is overpopulated or not?

What's the magic formula?

Common sense.

If the land and country cannot feed it's population

It's overpopulated.

Irrespective of the reason, drought, war, floods, sinking islands, it's overpopulated for it's resources.

Also, if a country has to beg for aid and food, it's overpopulated.

It's really quite simple.

Ok people.
This is not about climate change
This is not about nuclear war.
This is about the biggest threat to mankind, one that will destroy our planet more surely than either of the above.

It's about overpopulation.

Our planet has finite resources.
You can only produce a finite amount of food and have a finite amount of water.
In time, if we continue breeding uncontrolled as we are doing, we will reach the point where the planet cannot renew itself enough to maintain a habitable environment.

Every person breathes air, drinks water and eats food.
The more people tgere are, the more they eat, drink and breath.

Our world population is growing exponentially,  predominantly growing in parts of the world where food is scarce or where the population has already exceeded the environments ability to sustain them.

If we continue to send aid, food and water, they will continue to breed.
If we give them resources, they will continue to breed.
If we give them asylum,  they will continue to breed.
They cannot control themselves, as we see every day.

Giving asylum to these countries is comparable to throwing scraps, tiny morsels of food to a starving pack.
There are more being born than any, even all, of the world could give asylum to.
We would need to increase our refugee intake 1000 times to even keep up, and even then it woukd not be enough.

Charities play on our compassion, because for them it's a money making exercise.
Very little of the money we give actually makes it to the starving.
And yet they still breed.

The only solution is to dedicate ourselves to doing nothing but producing food and making water for these countries who cannot feed their ever growing populations.
And do you know what the result of that would be?

They would breed more.

There is one answer
We need to stop the breeding cycle
These people must be stopped or the world will die.
Give them aid, by all means, but at a cost.
They must be permanently sterilized to receive the aid.

In time, many years down the track, when numbers are stable,  they can breed in a sensible and sustainable manner.
We would no longer need to send billions to feed a breeding machine.
The wars that are there purely because there is not enough resources will stop.
Perhaps even primitive cultures will migrate back to where their barbarity is acceptable, and they woukd leave us alone.

But one thing is for sure
What we are doing now is walking the road to destruction.
We must stop it now or destroy the earth and civilization forever.

When it does happen nature will find a way.

Famine then disease then most people will die all over the globe and we start again IF there is anyone left

Then again maybe man will be destroyed forever by his own hand, we seem to be on that road even without over population.

The smartest animal on this Earth is also the dumbest, because we think we are infallible.

I should add the oligarchical system of individualism where we don't seem to care about the collective doesn't help.

Maybe the next time around we will become the BORG....LOL.

Assimilate OR die.... Cheesy

In regards to OVER-POPULATION...

The
'TRAP'
of Australia becoming a Republic is that Australia is a
PANDORA'S BOX
. When the World opens Australia up for the 'future' - our
MINIMALISTIC POPULATION GROWTH
will be like a disease to the rest of the world.
Our population will explode and the rest of the world's population will plummet.

SUPERNOVA

the fundamental result of 'over-population' and 'over-indulgence' of a world that 'burns itself out' and implodes.

Raven once heard an interesting hypothetical situation.

You are presented a box with a red button and given a choice to press it or not.

If you press the button half of the population of the planet is wiped out, completely at random. It could be anybody, even you. Of that half who remains, a third of them are rendered sterile. And in each proceeding generation a third will continue to remain sterile.

If you don't press the button the human race continues as is but is extinct within 300 years.

On paper it's an obvious choice. But do you want to be responsible for the murder of 4 billion people, one of which could be yourself?

Most people would blanche at that.

So let's sterilise a percentage of the population. Ok who? The third world? Or do we do it fairly and say, sterilise 33% of the population from each country?

Obviously what we are talking about is sterilising the poor. The problem is the poor outnumber us 100 fold, what happens to us if they decide, "no don't want to do that."

Also would the average person be comfortable with forced sterilisation of a populace? What happens if, when we run out of poor people, we find that those in power decide more need to culled. Some more undesirables need to go away. Where do we stop?

The fact is humanity, overall, will not accept a global sterilisation program. Procreation is too hardwired into our DNA. Raven would argue it's the very meaning of life.

No matter what we do, no matter what safe guards we put in place, our species will go extinct. But until that happens we fight to continue our species. Trying to sterilise a population could very well spark a fight the likes of which this planet has never seen.

I agree Spot- and one other thing- why the race to get to mars- as if the human race is worth expanding its destructive stupidity to yet another planet- the human race not that important- he continuation of the species is pure arrogant folly- humans are  a bloodsucking parasite- the day the humans are extinct is the day the earth will return to those who rightfully own it and take care of it- land and ocean animals/eventually

the concensus seems too be "we've fkd up this place - now we move on to the next" if GW is real and its seems it is we are all done for- I doubt any of us can turn this around now its gone too far- the only hope for all of us is global cooling
