You will note that since the closing of the Banking Royal Commission the Liberal Government has been as silent as the Sphinx about what it is going to do about the Commissioner's report  on the state of the Finance Industry, right across the board and without exception - silence

A total indictment of ingrained greed, ripping hapless citizens off at every turn

Yet the Government doesn't want to go near it

That is because its future and past for that matter is inextricably intertwined with the Big End of town

There is no resolution for the Libs they are totally tainted and as corrupt as the corporate thieves

The Liberals didn't want this Royal Commission. Everyone else did.

In 2016 when the Coalition government lost control of Parliament due to their laziness and ineptness, the motions that were being voted on were the establishment of a Banking Royal Commission. Labor could only get those numbers because all of the crossbenchers supported it.

The Coalition blocked it over 20 times. They had to be dragged kicking and screaming to do the right thing, then they had the banks draft the terms of reference. Even then, they couldn't keep a lid on the corporate malfeasance that was revealed.

It could have been a lot worse for them. Imagine if the terms of reference had not specifically excluded home loans and mortgages from investigation. The misconduct in those areas would have made the rest pale into insignificance - the dodgy loans, the theft of customer's money, the blatant disregard for Australian consumer law. A real inquiry with nothing off limits would have had the banks over a barrel. Instead, by siding with the crooks, it is the Liberals who would meet with retribution for doing nothing for too long.

At the next election, put the Liberals last. It's where they put you.

That would make a good bumper sticker.

Yes cods in spite of your sarcastic post I will answer you

Yes I am concerned about Bill Shorten

However it is untenable to re elect this totally tainted Government

The entrenched corruption in the Liberal Party is mind boggling

I sheet most of the blame at Malcolm Turnbull. He has always been up to his armpits with the Big End of town

He knifed Tony Abbott like a thief in the night then had a big 'cry baby' turn when exactly the same thing happened to him

The Liberal Party is at war with itself. They need to totally separate their ties with Big Business which in the Finance Sector is as corrupt as you could get

I wish the Labor Party well. I really do hope they represent the average person and not the vested interests of the Liberals

I used to support the Liberals but this Party has no resemblance to the ideals of Sir Robert Menzies nor John Howards for that matter

I don't think you need to say anything. The differences will come out after the Libs get smashed in the Federal election and the barely-suppressed infighting erupts into a political civil war. The decline and fall of the Liberal party after Howard will then be obvious.

Yes Bam there will be no place to hide at the next Election

I am disgusted with the Libs' behaviour. They had the opportunity to do great things

But the opposite has happened

The only good thing they did was to stop those damned boats

Shorten has said he will continue the current policy, let us hope that is the case

he was there from 2008 to  2013..

you remember the debt building years  with bugger all to show for it..

he was even ass treasurer  bless him all that experience..wow..

Do you think it says something to the unity and stability of the labor party that he has been there for 5 years - unlike the government who are up to their 3rd leader during the same timeframe?

It's not going to be for 4 years with this size of win.
