Interesting that when it came to the hole in the Ozone layer and the subsequent world-wide move on the recommendation of scientists that Chlorofluorocarbons be removed from use across the whole world ... that it was done and worked ... without all this stupid denial from a small set of crazy people flogging denial snake-oil.

We have all heard both sides of the argument by now, make a stand, back the scientists and Dave or the other lot.

Why do I have to take a stand on an issue that I have no firm belief in either way? Like 'gay rights' and 'women's rights' and all the other 'rights' movements - why should I be dragged into it unless I actually give a damn?

There's been far too much of this imposition of revolution by force from 'above' in this country - and so far it has been a disaster.

As far as climate change goes - where I grew up winters were colder and summers hotter than they are now, and we had some amazing storms that you don't see as many of these days.... but overall it is little different. I think the 'difference' is that there are more people to comment, and more localised attention being given to the possibilities.... but that the 'science' is still very much in its infancy.

Hmm - history has a way of changing.... NASA photographs at the time (and we all can only rely on what we are handed down as 'proof'), showed that (gasps) the alleged 'Ozone Hole' over Antarctica expanded in Winter and shrank in Summer - and that the pictures were actually cloud layer and sunlight and the size of the black spot depends on the season ......
