Wages Stalled, All Work Less Secure

Wages stalled, all work less secure: ABS   Sad
29 November 2018
ACTU

Median wage growth has been stalled at under 2% over recent years according to ABS statistics released today.

The data also reveals that one in four workers are paid less than $680 per week which is almost $40 less than the minimum wage.   Shocked   Sad

19% of Australian workers do not have a guaranteed minimum number of hours each week and 24% have earnings which vary through the year.

This is the face of the insecure work crisis and is making it impossible for huge numbers of Australian workers to do long-term or even short-term financial planning.

Quotes attributable to ACTU President Michele O’Neil:

“These figures show what workers already know; wages are stalled or going backwards, work is becoming more insecure and the future is hard to plan for.

“The wage growth crisis is now effecting all areas of the economy. The Morrison Government is sitting on its hands while workers struggle to make ends meet.

“The Morrison Government is completely out of touch with the experience of Australian workers.  There is nothing fair about a person earning less than $680 per week who isn’t even guaranteed a shift next week.

“We can only hope that the insecurity of the jobs of most in the coalition party room will teach our elected representatives about the lives of their constituents.

“We need to change the rules to ensure that working people have decent wages on which they can support themselves and their families, and certainty in employment which allows them to plan their lives.”

in life we will always face challenges.

you either see yourself as a victim of those challenges and you go down

or

you rise to the challenge and you go up.

form the age of 4 , we start to expect people to 'rise to the challenge".

you are not a toddler whiteknight.

"help, help, please help me.
when i was a toddler i had a problem and my mummy helped me
are you my mummy Mr Morrison."

To which Scott replies "no, i am not your mummy, have some god dammed self respect and start to behave like an adult "

i do wonder.

joining a union would be joining an orgnaisation that identifies with whinging, complaining, ingratitude and learning the skills of the "sook".

that would be extremely damaging from a career perspective.

why not join an entrepreneurs group or a business breakfast group and go vibe with the people who are buzzing off awesomeness.  get yourself around "success".

nothing good comes from a group of failure forming a collective.

we "become" the sum total of the 5 people we spend the most time with.

you spend a lot of time with 5 whiteknights and you would feel so demotivated and so much self pity that your lifes potential would evaporate. thats a tragedy

i think if you are a mediocre person who doesnt like to push then you would be grateful to the unions.

in the same way that a morbidly obese person whose only joy in life is eating fat and sugar might say

"thank goodness for the McDonalds stores of australia" Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

when i am cleaning up horse poo , i can feel sad and see myself as a victim of the poo and then i am more mediocre

or

i can think about how lifting the horse poo is building my muscles and making me mentally and physically strong and i can start to see it as an opportunity to improve. Cheesy Cheesy

If the economy is doing so well as libtards claim why isn't it translating in to some always proven trickle down?
