does anyone else agree with me    when they get elected on a PARTY ticket....if they cant stand the heat in the kitchen   then they should get out

to me we are allowing them to hoodwink the voters  by allowing them to sit on the  Indies benches  filinf their nails...

its bloody disgusting   in the real world if you were employed to do a certain job   then decided you didnt want to do that job anymore......

would you seriously expect to sit on the sidelines getting paid all the while.... while someone else did your job...

I'd becareful what you wished for.  She is not a senator, where by the liberal party can just replace her with someone else.  She is a member of house of representative in the seat of Chisholm.  If she fully quits, then there will be a by election, just like Wentworth when Turnbull quit.   And Chisholm was on a knife edge last election, she got in with 51.6 of two party preferred (margine of 1.7 percent).  If Chischolm loses then the liberal government is finished before Christmas.

Like you can talk. The ALP is leading in the polls, yet Bull Shitten STILL isn't the preferred PM. Ouch, that's an uppercut in the nutsack for Billy!  Grin

And for what exactly does PPM matter? Nothing at all.

I DONT CARE....

its happening more and more....the voters didnt vote for an Independent...a sulker..this  happens in every party... and this is what it comes down too....

we the voters do not have a say in any of this.....

if they cared about the country   they would try to fix what is happening in the party... not sit and do bugger all but collect the money,..its beyond a joke..

Yes they are, but it’s faceless men of the life like Photios. Give me one example where a moderate (eg Bragg) or centre-right candidate (eg Hughes), and which unfortunately looks like also happening to Craig Kelly, has been turfed for a right candidate (eg Molan)?

I smell a rat here.

Is this a self serving move to save her own seat at the next election?

I suspect this is a well planned event.

She has a slim chance at the next election as an independent, probably no chance as a Lib.

She will probably still vote with the government until the next election ,,,, if there are any votes.

I would not be surprised if the Libs worked this one.

No matty, we are not talking about the battle between the right and centre faction within the liberal party.  We are talking about women being mistreated, in the liberal party.

Chisholm is now a notional Labor seat after a redistribution in Victoria, and Chisholm covers some of the territory in Melbourne's eastern suburbs that surprised everyone by swinging heavily to Labor at the Victorian state election. Labor gained six seats so far from the Liberals at the Victorian state election. Three of them cover parts of Chisholm. It would be electoral suicide for the Liberals to call a federal by-election there.

State seats covered by the Division of Chisholm

Box Hill - ALP Gain with 7.5% swing
Burwood - ALP Gain with 6.0% swing
Forest Hill - Marginal Liberal, 3.0% swing to ALP
Ringwood - ALP Gain with 7.7% swing

Certainly she would want to save her own seat.

She only won last time because a very popular Labor member quit.

If she stayed with the Libs she would be "gawn"Wink

As an independent, she has a chance to win.

I disagree. I think she has a better chance as the lib candidate, though neither option is good for her. The only thing she'll achieve standing as an independent is make it certain the libs will lose the seat. That might be a good enough goal for her. Though if she has any ambitions of remaining an MP, then her best bet is to contest a nearby liberal seat as an independent.

Isn't it well known that she left because of bullying and that she gave a few examples at the time ?

The big part of the problem is than nothing was done about it - just business bullying as usual.
