Quote:
Australian voters are split on whether to cut the number of migrants coming from Muslim countries, as the Morrison government considers an overhaul of immigration and population rules within weeks.

A special Fairfax-Ipsos survey finds only 14 per cent of voters support an increase in the number of immigrants from Muslim countries while 35 per cent believe the intake should stay the same.

But another 46 per cent believe the intake should be reduced a lot or a little - a position backed by a clear majority of Coalition voters and one third of Labor voters.

I didn't need to include it.

I said:

Only about 5% seem to be undecided.

14% want an increase, and 35% are happy with the current levels.

5 + 14 + 35 = 54.

Anyone with a basic understanding of maths would know that that leaves 46% who want immigration numbers reduced.

I hasten to add that 54 is more than 46.

Why would you add that 5.

Okay.

Add 2.5

51.5 is still more than 46

Or, ignore the 5

49 is still more than 46

Ignore the idiot.  Gregg is just torturiing numbers to get them to appear to support something they don't.

To break it down for the moron, the single biggest cohort surveyed, 46% want less or much less immigration from Muslim countries.  Clear and unambiguous.

Turdy thinks if he adds the second single biggest cohort, which is 35% which wants no change to the smallest cohort who has an actual opinion which is 14% who want an increase, he magically makes those who want an increase to be 49%.

Doesn't work that way Turdy, adding those who don't want an increase to the smaller amount who do, doesn't make 49% who want an increase.

Only 14%, the smallest fraction of those that had an opinion want an increase.

The single biggest majority of the survey at 46% want less or much less.

You don't get to add apples to your oranges.  Roll Eyes

I'm simply providing the facts.

46% want to cut Muslim immigration.

14% want an increase (thus, they don't want to cut Muslim immigration).

35% are happy with the current levels (thus, they don't want to cut Muslim immigration).

So, we have 46% who want to cut Muslim immigration and 49% who don't.

49 is more than 46.

This is just simple mathematics, so I'm not sure why I'm copping personal attacks.

I'm being completely objective.

I don't remember anyone ever saying that 49% want an increase.

Can you perhaps provide a link to that post?

Cheers.

What has been said, is this:

- 46% want a cut to Muslim immigration

- 49% do not want a cut to Muslim immigration

These are the simple facts of the matter.

Either way the movement is on to reduce not just immigration but Muslim immigration and the politicians have acknowledged this.

Just cull immigration period.
No more refugees.
No more asylum shoppers.
No more free loading pricks with 10 wives making a killing in this country.

Those that want to keep it...piss off to the country you want to bring here and enjoy your desires...easy.  Wink

You can do your "trick", (though it doesnt really rise to that level)  and torture the numbers the other way as well, 46% + 35% = 81% who want no increase or a decrease.

81 is more than 14.   Roll Eyes
