A DISGRUNTLED farm worker allegedly put needles in strawberries, sparking a crisis that shook the nation and risked crippling growers.

The 50-year-old woman, My Ut Trinh, known as Judy, was arrested and charged after allegedly contaminating strawberries with needles.

Strawberry recovery officer appointed

Strawberry dishes ideal for summer heat

Five awesome strawberry recipes

The Courier-Mail understands Trinh worked at the Berrylicious/Berry Obsession farm in southeast Queensland as a supervisor of fruit pickers.

She is believed to have had grievances about how she thought she was being treated.

Police will allege she had told people about exacting revenge for the perceived gripes.

Trinh was arrested after DNA was found in a contaminated punnet of strawberries in a Victorian supermarket, it will be alleged.

Escorted by officers in a police car, the Caboolture woman was met by a throng of media at the Brisbane Watchhouse about 5pm on Sunday.

The media has continually called this contamination of the product ... and it's no such thing.

Contamination is done by adding a substance like a poison or bacteria that makes people ill.

It's tampering, sabotaging,booby trapping by adding /hiding an item that will do actual physical bodily harm.

The CEO of GrowCom has just been on the morning news stating as much.

The woman arrested has been charged over about 6 punnets ..... yet there are many other instances around the same time meaning more people have to be bought to account whatever their motives were.

Peccar & Aussie are rabbiting on about "what has she been convicted of?"....... like they have some point. Roll Eyes

No one claimed she had been convicted .... just arrested and charged on DNA evidence......case pending.
