I do realize that and it cant be done, WA has many renewable options to stand alone, go ask the Fremantle Doctor for a fix, and yes 20% of the power coming from wind in SA right now is something WA could aspire to.

Yes, so that we don't kill off every single life form on this planet and earth ends up looking like mars well before it should. And it does make economic sense.
Do they have running water in WA yet?

As this planet starts to cook and the runaway effect kicks in the atmosphere wont last long, we are doomed unless WA gets onboard.
I personally think we have already gone past the tipping point and humans will not last another thousand years.
