Climate/weather occurs in cycles

The current drought is just following the long established drought cycle.

It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the Greenies Global Warming HOAX.

Droughts becoming more frequent and severe. That's what Leftards, Greens and the PP Fool Billy B would have you believe except they are not. Have a read through this letter published in 1902 reflecting on the previous 150 years.

The Armidale Express, Friday - June 27, 1902
Drought.

An esteemed local resident has handed us the following very interesting article on drought:—Droughts of New South Wales.

In 1790, no rain is said to have fallen around Sydney from June to November, "all grass was dried up".

In January and February, 1791, after several months of excessive heat and hot, winds, birds dropped dead from trees ; everything burnt up; stream of water supplying Sydney nearly exhausted.

In 1799, there was a great drought, large bush fires, and stock starving.

In 1803, the drought was severely felt in all known parts of the Colony. No rain, except passing showers, has been experienced from July, 1802, until the beginning of June, 1803.

A long drought in the autumn of 1807.

Again in 1809, felt most severely from January to April. In 1810, drought severely felt—new wheat, 34s. per bushel.

Autumn of 1811, Sydney tanks empty; water 6d. per pail. Great drought throughout the Colony.

A drought was prevalent in 1812, 1813, 1814, so severe that Wentworth and party were led to cross the dividing range.

From September, 1821, to February, 1822, considerable drought.

Extreme drought in 1824.

Through 1825-6-7, terrible droughts, with great scarcity of water. Stock had to be continually moving in search of water.

Stuart says (expedition in March, 1829) : " I saw rivers cease to flow, and sheets of water disappear."

In 1835, a severe drought was felt, mostly at Illawarra, Argyle, and Maitland.

In 1837, wheat sowed on the Hunter had not germinated in September.

1838 was very dry, prayers being offered for rain. In February, 1839, the Campaspe ceased to flow, the first time since its discovery; dead cattle were lying along the roads ; the Hunter River was salt at West Maitland.

From August, 1842, to February, 1843, a drought was experienced; the Patterson ceased to flow in November, 1842.

From July, 1847, to January, 1838, dreadfully dry weather was experienced. From August, 1847, to
March, 1850, drought. Prayers for rain August, 1854, on account of the drought, which lasted till January, 1855.

From October, 1857, to January, 1862, drought. Fearfully dry weather experienced from August,
1862, to January, 1863, and from October of that year until February,
1864.

Prayers for rain again in-1865.

From October, 1867, to January, 1868, considerable drought was felt.

1873, drought year.

1876 to 18/8, very severe droughts were felt, with very great scarcity of water in Sydney and the country, only two months' supply being left in the Botany dams in April, 1876. Rain fell in the winter.

From November, 1881, to November, 1882, severe drought in most of New South Wales, 1881 a most disastrous year ; crops total failure; country districts drawing food supplies from Sydney, which were imported chiefly from America and New Zealand during 1889.

Then, from November, 1883, till April, 1884, very dry. Autumn of 1885 and 1886, drought.

Copious rains fell all over the colony April 9th, 1889; then again, tremendous rains in May of the same year, which ended one of the most disastrous droughts recorded. A run
of good seasons followed till the end of 1895, then drought again set in, 1896, 1897.

Unprecedented heatwave in January, 1896. Crops failed largely in 1898; poorest result since 1888, stockowners feeding largely in 1897-8. Autumn of 1899, very dry, but a good harvest that year, the best known for the area cultivated.

The above is an outline of droughts to the present time, 1902, which had no parallel, as regards the necessity for stock-feeding, no useful rains having fallen since last October, when the season was excellent. For the first time since the completion of the present Sydney water-supply, the water in the Prospect dam has fallen below the gravitation outlet, and has to be pumped from the lower level.

No one can doubt that severe droughts are the normal condition of the country we live in, and there is every reason to believe that the present century will bring about the same results as the past 100 years, only that the coming generations should gain by the experience dearly bought by their fore fathers, and, possibly, be in a better position to battle with the natural elements.

The optimistic views of past and present generations have led to the downfall of many a good man.

Julia Gillard should be jailed for selling us all out to the bankers.

She even said so in her speech.
