This situation is exactly what Guliani has been preparing for with his poorly handled "perjury trap" claims.

He'll continue saying Cohen is lying, but Mueller will believe him then when Trump tells the truth, it will be considered perjury.

In the court of public opinion it will be enough for the Trumptards to stick with their witch-hunt story, but to everyone else who understands how an actual investigation works, it's just another tactic to protect an obviously guilty person.
