Shouldn't

It's a very sorry day for justice, when Australian actors such as Geoffrey Rush and Craig McLoughlin
- and politician, Emma Husey
- can be found guilty, based purely on accusation

Buzzy,

despite how much you wish for it to be otherwise all is calm and orderly on the good guys' side.

There is lots of mirth at Labor's expense of course and much satisfaction that Bulldust Billy will now be staying until the election as the worst most despised Opposition "leader" in Australia's history.

So things is lookin' good for Australia now that an election victory for the Libs is almost a certainty.

What do you think the next Labor scandal will be ?

Wee Willy, still shaking in his slippers, praises Emma Husar for not forcing a by-election which would have shafted Battling Billy for sure.

Shorten: Labor MP Emma Husar made right call to quit
8:27pm Aug 9, 2018

Bill Shorten denies he knew about Emma Husar allegations.

Labor leader Bill Shorten believes outgoing MP Emma Husar was right to quit politics while facing a series of bullying allegations in her federal seat.

The western Sydney MP won't recontest her seat of Lindsay at the next election, after 22 former staff accused her of bullying and harassment.

NSW Labor is expected to release the conclusions of its investigations into Ms Husar on Friday.

...
An emotional Emma Husar told 9NEWS' Chris O'Keefe yesterday that she won't recontest her seat of Lindsay at the next election. Picture: 9NEWS (9NEWS)

"There's plenty, clearly plenty, of unhappy people here, but she's made a very principled decision to say that politics isn't for her," Mr Shorten told reporters on Thursday.

"She's put her party and the people first. I actually now think that it's time for some of the personal attacks to stop. It's what turns people off politics."

Mr Shorten refused to say if he was happy with the NSW Labor investigation, which was widely leaked to the media.

"Emma Husar has been under extreme pressure, and I don't know all the facts at the end of the day," he said.

After announcing she would quit, Ms Husar accused some in the party of resenting her election because she had not come through the party machine.

"I had not done my Labor Party apprenticeship," she told the Nine Network.

"A few nasty, faceless people can ruin someone's career, almost completely smash it to pieces."

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull asked Special Minister of State Mathias Cormann about the bullying allegations, and he was told there were processes in place to help the former electorate office staff who complained.

That could include complaints to the Finance Department, and the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority.

"Those processes are managed by Finance or IPEA independently and confidentially in the appropriate way," a spokeswoman for Senator Cormann told AAP.

Mr Turnbull questioned how much Mr Shorten knew about the investigation.

"Where was the champion of the workers when people were being allegedly mistreated in this way?" he told 6PR radio in Perth.

But the Labor leader insisted he only found out when the story was leaked to the media.

"It's rubbish. I had no knowledge of these complaints," Mr Shorten said.

Ms Husar's western Sydney seat of Lindsay, held with a margin of just 1.1 per cent, will be hotly contested between Labor and the Liberals at the election due by May 2019.

Sounds like Buzzy is getting excited.

Fairfax Media understands that Ms Husar has retained the high-profile Sydney defamation silk Sandy Dawson, while her lawyer has sent letters threatening defamation action to Jeremy Anderson, BuzzFeed and News Corp Australia.

Will Emma sue the pants off them ?

indeed Buzz.

the "masses" have a deep resentment of successful people.
most people in the masses probably dreamed of some great accomplishment , but find themselves living lives that are pretty much garbage.
fat steve and fat janeen sit on the couch and they know they are rubbish and achieving zip but they cant face that.
and when fat janeen sees a single mum get into parliament it makes janeen very very uncomfortable.
and the mob dont like feeling uncomfortable.
janeen has no narrative whereby she would work her ass off to get into parliament, so her only option is to drag the successful person down.

out come the pitchforks.

and lets face it there are a LOT of losers out there who feel a bit better when they can get angry.

what is really pathetic is that when this woman is being attacked, our 2 leaders, 2 men, 2 people who should be role models for defending the members of society decide that they can get in the front of the mob and lead them and score a few expedient points.

for shorten to throw her under the bus, for turnbull to kick a wounded animal is just beyond pathetic.

its how i know bot these men are not fit for office (i'm not saying Husar is by the way).

buit when a man acts like that, in such a spineless, gutless, weak and selfish way and refuses to defend and protect someone who is wounded, someone whose kids are copping it on facebook, someone who hasnt even been found guilty of anything, then we know they are complete frauds.

aqua your noble ravings may be a bit misplaced.

It seems Emma has been shafted by the union controlled Labor Party because she is not a UNION BROWN NOSER and the unions want Jeremy Anderson Son of ex NSW Labor Minister Peter to replace her.

Jeremy Anderson is rumored to be running daily leaks so that he can get Emma Husar booted so he can get preselected in her seat.

This is just more Labor slime causing a few ripples in Labor's vast Cesspool of Corruption.

since day one    the only people who knew anything about this were all in the Labor Party.. how else would the media get hold of  a list of 44 complaints?... pf course they are going to print it   the women is paid by the taxpayers... we maintain the office she is in control of... we do in fact pay the staff who appear to have been bullied..and sworn at. amongst other things....... Angry

does this sound like a SAFE WORK PLACE to anyone?

they would have done the right thing and put in a complaint

otherwise why did they send in

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Cameron Sinclair, a former senior adviser for Chris Bowen and Bill Shorten’s numbers man in the NSW Right, Sam Dastyari, and who later worked for Kristina Keneally, joined Husar’s office for two months from May to June last year, specifically recruited to “restructure staff” in her office which had become dysfunctional and “a mess”.

wasnt Sam a biggy with Bill?.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I dont know about chucking her under the bus

but it seems to me she had plenty of warning.....some thing was wrong in her office.....

Figures show Ms Husar has been kicked out of the chamber in federal Parliament more than any other MP, totalling 22 occasions since she was elected in 2016.

The Telegraph has obtained video footage of one recorded outburst showing Ms Husar slamming a folder on the table twice, before storming out of the chamber.

ummmmm as has been mentioned    shes only been there for 2 years..... Sad Sad

This Husar saga is sounding like a late night program on the SBS.

Labor MP Jason Clare refutes claim that under-fire colleague provocatively crossed her legs in front of him
By Lane Calcutt • Political Reporter 8:32pm Aug 2, 2018

VIDEO: Labor MP Emma Husar ‘fighting for political life’

Labor frontbencher Jason Clare has rejected as “categorically untrue” allegations under-siege MP Emma Husar sexually harassed him in his office at Parliament House.

Ms Husar has taken to Twitter to vehemently deny the claims.

“This smear campaign is completely and utterly untrue, unfair and hurtful beyond belief. 100 percent false,” she wrote, accusing people of trying to 'destroy' her.

“These are absolute lies that have been fabricated by Jeremy Anderson, who’s working with his father to leak against me and ruin my reputation.”

...
Emma Husar tweeted today that she was attempting to clear her name - but believes people are out to 'destroy' her. Picture: AP (AAP)

The claim was contained in a letter from special investigator, John Whelan, to Ms Husar, in which he detailed a long list of allegations against her, published by Buzzfeed.

Mr Whelan was asked by the NSW branch of the Labor Party, to inquire into claims the member for the seat of Lindsay, in Sydney’s west, had bullied staff and misused her parliamentary entitlement.

In what has been described as a “Basic Instinct” moment, the letter cites an incident, when it’s alleged Ms Husar provocatively crossed her legs as Mr Clare sat on the floor.

But, Mr Clare told 9NEWS, the claim was “categorically untrue”.

The letter also lists allegations by former staff members that Ms Husar was abusive, forced them to do domestic chores, talked openly in her office about her sex life, and had sexually harassed a number of male employees.

...
Jason Clare refuted the allegations made against Emma Husar. Picture: AAP (AAP)

It also raised claims she had diverted party funds to her personal bank account.

Twenty staff have left in two years.

Ms Husar, who has taken indefinite leave while the investigation proceeds, has strongly denied any misuse of entitlements.

Yesterday she was forced to defend her attendance at a Bruno Mars concert in Brisbane during a taxpayer-funded interstate trip.

What is clear is there are forces, who had access to the documents, who are trying to bring Ms Husar down.

Bill Shorten’s office said he hadn’t seen the letter, nor did he know about it before today.

He repeated he didn’t know of the investigation, until told by the NSW ALP on July 18.

Whatever the findings, some within the Labor Party are questioning if Ms Husar will contest the next election, and whether she’ll be re-endorsed.

Treasurer, Scott Morrison, said it was beyond belief Mr Shorten didn’t know about the allegations earlier.

“If he didn’t know about them, what sort of an indictment is that on him,” he said.

“He either is incompetent or he’s been covering it up. Which is it, Bill?”

He said Labor had made Ms Husar the “pin up” of the 2016 campaign.

“She was the face the Labor Party presented at the last election. There’s now egg on that face.

“But more importantly, there’s egg on the face of Bill Shorten.”

Greens senator, senator Sarah Hanson-Young, called the situation "revolting", and further evidence of "sexualised bullying" of women in parliament.

Ms Hanson-Young said it was clear "someone's got it in" for Ms Husar and had sunk to a new low, by leaking the allegations.

"There's one thing to be questioning whether somebody's entitlements have been properly managed," she told 9NEWS.

"There's a whole other thing to be attacking somebody with sexist slurs and innuendo.

"This is still very much a boys' club in this place.

"There are still those people who still think parliament is not a place for women.

"We've got to stem put sexist behaviour and sexualised bullying."

Former Labor powerbroker, Graham Richardson, doesn't think Ms Husar can survive.

"I don't think she should be in parliament after the election, and I'm pretty sure she won't be," the former minister told Sky News.

Emma Husar's treatment of staffers was “offensive and unreasonable” but NSW Labor sees no reason for the besieged MP to resign from Parliament.

The party has backed Ms Husar despite an independent investigation finding merit in the complaints alleged in evidence from 22 former employees that included bullying and intimidation.

The investigation, headed by barrister John Joseph Whelan, recommended there be a further inquiry into allegations Ms Husar misused taxpayer entitlements and travel expenses.

Ms Husar has continued to reject all allegations and told the investigation she managed staff appropriately given her heavy workload and intense personal stress.

But the Lindsay MP announced earlier this week that she would not recontest her western Sydney seat at the next election.

A statement released by NSW Labor today stated that, based on the findings of the Whelan investigation, there was “no basis for Ms Husar to resign from the Australian Parliament”.

It brings to an end speculation that Ms Husar may have been kicked out of the party and forced to sit on the crossbench.

The Whelan report also called for another investigation into the way her staff were used to perform non-electorate work duties, such as walking her dog and minding her children.

“In general terms there are two contrasting perceptions which have been expressed to the Assessment,” the statement said.

“The Member (Ms Husar) expressed that she manages appropriately to achieve higher standards of performance and loyalty. And does so under a heavy workload, intense personal stress and a desire to serve Western Sydney and in particular the cause of victims of domestic violence

Whereas male and female complainants perceive and allege they have found much of the Member’s management offensive and unreasonable.

“After considering all sides of the relevant issues the Assessment has generally favoured the complainant’s perception of events.”

Claims that Ms Husar sexually harassed a staff member were not supported on the “balance of probabilities, while a claim she exposed herself to another federal MP was also not supported.

The investigation into Ms Husar’s office began in March but only became public within recent weeks, with the leak of some of the details of allegations against her.

Ms Husar announced on Wednesday she would step down from politics, hitting out at “faceless” people within the Labor Party who leaked against her.

Labor leader Bill Shorten said Ms Husar had done the right thing by the party when she quit.

“In terms of what she’s done and what she hasn’t done, she will get a chance to read the report and people will learn the lessons,” he said.

“Everyone needs to be treated with respect out of this process and there is little more I can add.”

well there you have it....

bizzare to say the least.....

Particularly cringe worthy considering as it is likely also untrue.

If something that is extremely unlikely to have happened and is denied by all present the odds would say that it most likely never happened.
