I was more referring to a terrorist attack on our water supply where a de-sal facility would be harder to contaminate I'm supposing. Anyway, I can understand the points that it's a bit of a waste of money and an environmental pest atm.

Don't they have semi trailer desal plants... i don't know how economical they r, but a fleet of them to go where needed in Australia would seem the go. Wink

If they have those, they'd be more efficient for limited use. Sounds good to me.

I don't think this is really about climate change, its what the governments did in a time of drought, was it the best way to go.
I personally think they should of spent money on getting everyone tanks for roofs , regenerating and addressing the river systems, maybe a dam or 2 or even deepening existing dams so no other land gets altered.

True.

From what I can tell, these ongoing costs were originally budgeted for, to the tune of something like $6 billion to 2039, but at this rate they'll chew through that much quicker.

Water security is important. Can water security be like electricity with roof panels and storage being an actual supplement? It seems far more complicated than that Sad
