Yes totally agree with u
improvements will happen with better solar collectors, better batteries and a better plane....
Considering the panels and batteries have improved so much in the last ten years I’d say it won’t be far off.

Usable fuel to transport actual passengers and freight and at the same sorts of speeds and quantities as currently enjoyed is fkken awesome, even if you have to pay for it.

This delusion that everything powered by sunlight is somehow going to be totally free of any costs to the end user is fkken insane, you and nails really need to get a reality check.

Yeah jet engines don't have that many moving part either, what they do have is a massive amount of power to lift large aircraft full of people over long distances and do it quickly

And a solar electric propeller driven aircraft will never even come close to achieving anything remotely worthwhile.

What you're talking about is nothing more than a curiosity, something to get the dullard socialists all worked up. Grin

Solar panels - a mature technology - 60 years since first used in satellites.

Batteries - Another mature technology - over 160 years.

Wind generators - Another mature technology - over 120 years old.

What does that mean for the future? It will be only incremental increases. No big jump forward.

Do u know anything about the airplane we r talking about, or have u just come in here to insult. The conversation is about the power of the plane getting lighter, in case u missed that...... now pretend I'm talking slow to u so u will understand, the lighter the power supply the better the plane will fly.
Id think if u had any interest in planes at all, u would be blown away with this plane, its a incredable feat of engineering and the first one that can fly nonstop for as long as the pilot can handle it.
You do know that prop planes will be around forever and jets r very expensive to buy use and maintain.
