Since I was elected in 2016, I've repeatedly asked why this Government and previous have allowed our oil refineries in Australia to close down, all while allowing our fuel supply to drop to 43 days.

The International Energy Agency mandates that countries hold a stock in reserve “equivalent to 90 days of net imports”.

So if the Syrian matter develops any further, Australia is in real trouble and I'm not blowing this out of proportion.

It's only in times of trouble people begin asking why our elected leaders have ignored such important standards.

Now, will someone from the Government or Opposition agree we cannot allow our oil refineries in Australia to close up completely?
