Relationship with Vets.

That Thread over at Extremism disgusts me. It was started by Bobby in Chat and moved to Extremism by Vic......who says he is a Vet.

WTF?????

I say Bobby started that Thread as a very direct personal attack on Karnal. He then tried to pretend to fawn on Karnal, but with every post made, it is quite clear the entire Thread is a personal and pile on attack. Just disgraceful.

We have several Members here who suggest they are Vets. For example ~ Karnal, Big 'Old, Grappler and Vic. (Sorry if I have missed anyone.) I would never have the hide to suggest they are frauds, and to allow the speculation and personal abuse that Thread deliberately invites and provokes is just appalling.

I have never....never....never ever said I served in the Navy or the ADF or in any military of any kind.

I have never said I was a Vet. I have mentioned my time in the Navy, including my time on Submarines but I cannot recall ever classing myself as a "Vet". To me, a "Vet" is one who has served their country in warlike or government nominated actions and i have not served in those.

The term "Veteran" is now used to describe any ex servicemen however, I would prefer it remain to describe those who have served in some theatre of war or warlike operations

Is it just me or is there anyone else who believes this prying/stalking into the private life of a Member is completely unacceptable?

Never use the word 'Vet' in reference to anyone, let alone myself, the term is way too american for my liking. I only refer to myself as an ex-serviceman in front of civilians, much to the annoyance of the idiot karnal.
