They were not repaired here -

Just as an side, there were hundreds of tradesmen and women in 4 squadrons at Amberley maintaining the F111, what do you think they did if not repair the avionics packages?

I know what they did -
they plugged a test computer into a connector inside the cockpit -
it would go through a complete automatic test procedure -
& it would tell them which black box was faulty.
The maintenance crew would then change out that box
by unplugging its connectors.
The F111 also had a monitoring computer that would tell the pilots where faults were and how critical they were.
The information from that would tell them if a mission could go ahead or if they had to return to base for repairs.

They wouldn't have let a chump like you play around inside one of those black boxes.

Krap. The South Vietnamese Army - its generals, its leaders - was under the direct leadership of US forces. It's political leaders were installed. All of them were shipped off to the US before the fall of Saigon.
