its a problem that will need fixing at the level of personal psychology.
a scientist may say that the answer is for all students to wear a bullet proof vest.
i suppose thats a more scientific answer but it pushes the problem back one step and solves nothing

We're only half way through the second month of the year, and already there have been 18 school shootings. Since 2013, the US has averaged one school shooting a week.
