That is more than I spend on petrol in a year Smiley

My last basic service was under $300 but had to get new vented disks up front ... Total bill was just under $1000

Not sure what they do for a Tesla check suspension and few bearings ..... electrical diagnostics .... for over 2k ????

"The recommended inspection interval is every 12,500 miles or one year, whichever comes first. The inspection is not free by default, but can be covered under an extended service plan. Failing to have scheduled inspections disqualifies you from the resale value guarantee program."

"Tesla model S costs $2400 to maintain for four years, according to Tesla. You can purchase the corresponding plan from Tesla."

"Tesla currently charges $600 for an annual service which includes replacing all the replaceable stuff like wiper blades and filters."

The Tesla is really heavy for its size so brakes and tyre wear will be more than petrol cars.

Lithium batteries have around 2000 cycles before they're stuffed, what makes people think they will last longer in a car compared to phones or computers?

Because they tested it with the old Roadsters and found about 80-85% of battery life remaining after 100,000 miles.

The current data on Tesla Ss show less that 15% capacity loss over 250,000 km of car life.

Its all moot given the price of 100k-150K +  which results in a loss for Tesla (true cost is higher).

Yes the battery is the flaw with electric cars, with the prius Toyota says they should last 5-8 years so don't buy a second hand one ... then there is the cost to dispose of them and buy a new one ..... A Tesla wall cost 13k+ not sure how much the car battery replacement cost would be.

Not me I like money more than over priced cars with design / quality flaws.
I was close to buying an AMG45 but decided not to in the end, the 92k price was not the issue, the cockpit was a bit small.
Ended up buying a car for 28k (practicality won)

Its a big call to buy a car for 100k-150k with obvious flaws.
If I do buy an electric car it needs to have a 600-1000km range and cost 30-60K.

I am much the same. My car is parked at a 'park n ride' bus stop for commuters 5 days a week.
An old camry is perfect for that
