"Tesla Is Recalling 123,000 Model S Sedans. Here's Why"

http://fortune.com/2018/03/29/tesla-recall-125000-model-s/

I suppose you would like to blame Tesla for a major recall of faulty airbags on millions of fossil fool cars Cheesy LOL

Nope. One manufacturer of airbags I believe.

Now corrosion of aluminium bolts? I guess used to save weight. Corrosive due to salts on icy road possibly. That's an engineering issue; not a faulty supply part issue.

Stories of wheels falling off

" First, the known facts.  On Sunday, Apr. 24 of this year, Pete Cordaro had driven his Tesla Model S about 73,000 miles, making it one of the higher-mileage electric vehicles on the road.  The Model S is an all-electric vehicle introduced by Tesla in 2012, and currently retails for about $70,000.  While driving slowly on a back road in Pennsylvania looking for mushrooms, he hit a pothole and heard a "snap."  The left front hub had separated from the control arm of the suspension system.  In simple turns, the front driver's side wheel fell off."

Nope. But generally they don't have a potential catastrophic failure. Wheels falling off is bad at highway speed.

Well I leave it to you to google Tesla suspension failures.

DonDeeHippy wrote on Apr 8th, 2018 at 9:23pm:
Ok so your telling me u think ICE vehicals don’t have damaging exhaust emissions or just the example I used was not very good ?
A answer of nope to that confuses me

So you are simple? Who knew?

You did notice I only answered the first part of the question? Wink

DonDeeHippy wrote on Apr 8th, 2018 at 9:23pm:
Ok so that happened 2 years ago what was the findings ?

There is an article in the Australian (paywalled) from about 2 weeks ago.

Well it’s a double negative do u think exhaust fumes are poison yes or no ?

Ok they have a recall the bolts might break so they r fixing them, that to shows they spotted a fault and r fixing it.

Still no answer on the last article u posted on the finding from 2years ago

Ohh dear it just seams u can win lee
I can send links though if u go to electric ,com search for article
Tesla Model S suspension and NDA situation: here are the facts [Updated]

It’s a little diferant to the alarmist crap u posted, the suspension was rooted and Tesla paid for half and guy went to the govt and the rest is history, funny they didn’t make Tesla have a recall on suspension after investigating.
basicaly the guy had been driving the car a lot on old dirt roads and after 120000 k something broke.

So you didn't read the 123,000 Tesla recall? It was only reported 30 March 2018.

Electric.com seems to be an electric provider marketplace.

Oh electrik.co 2016. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Can't even google. Why am I not surprised? 9 days ago is more recent than 2 years.

Nope. you keep trying to put words in m mouth.

Actually if you parse the sentence correctly;  "so you think ice vehicles don't have damaging emissions"

The Answer is Nope. (I don't think that at all ) with the part in brackets understood. Understood? So there is NO double negative.

Nope. The vehicles are being recalled because of corrosion problems. They didn't spot the fault, they failed to even recognise a potential fault that is chemical and should have been spotted.

So is that to do with electric cars, or the manufacturer?

E.g. if BMW made an all electric car, do you think its wheels would fall off

lee always resorts to using strawman fallacies whenever there is a discussion of renewable energy or electric cars Cheesy

Let's see -

Tesla is the Manufacturer? - Yes

Tesla has reported suspension problems? - Yes

Tesla Model S up to end of 2016 have been recalled? - Yes

The reported problems are corrosion of aluminium bolts from de-icing salts? Yes

Some strawman. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

BTW - It was DonDeeHippy who introduced Tesla to the debate. Wink
