I see you believe that adage of 98% of statistics are made up.

https://www.best-selling-cars.com/international/2018-january-to-march-internatio...

In that they give the list.
If I add up car sales it comes to - 6,829,300

"Global Plug-In Electric Car Sales Hit 140,000 In March, Tesla #1"

https://insideevs.com/global-plug-in-electric-car-sales-increased-to-over-140000...

Now if I divide that out it becomes about 1 in 49. 48.78 to be pedantic.

I think I would get aircon anxiety with electric cars.

What will heating and cooling do to the range?

Tesla actually have a temperature control in their main page , you can change the outside temperature and have either a heater or air con going and how it affects the range.

https://www.tesla.com/en_AU/models
fun to play with.

Air cons effect range of ice cars too, the smaller the vehicle the worse it seams.

But you wont buy an EV, will you? Zealots never do.

there there weeken it will be ok.....
140000 zealots bought ev's last month.

out of 4 million cars last month.  Your point? Particularly since none of them are YOUR purchase.

Hey so every 49th car in world being bought is a EV awesome.  Wink Wink

You think that 2% sales are good?

I will bet that in a years time you sill still be saying the same things and still not bought an EV

Electric cars are ramping up in production and sales. Cost of ownership over the life of the vehicle is cheaper for the EV.

In twenty years time EVs will be the norm.

actually, they are NOT cheaper. At the moment this is only true for very high mileage vehicles which is why taxis use the Prius. But you dont see taxis being EV because they want to be on the road 24 hrs/day and not 8 hours a day on recharge.

Except the London black cab that r going electric ohh and the Netherlands that r going to Tesla and emerits as well
I see in QLD the average cab does 160000 kms a year , so 500 kms a day. Tesla’s do 600 kms in a charge , a lunch hour would charge the taxi each day, Netherlands have chargers at the airport to charge between fares.
I know 8 hours sounds better but 1 hour is closer. Let’s be generous 2 hours a day.
Still for your own argument in Australia prolly not the best value for money.
Tesla S an X against the cars they r competing against seam to be cheeper over the life of the vehical , and r the only ones in aus that r selling.
Maybe look at the other thread about the limo service in Sydney  that’s is doing well, they r taxis.

You never seem to understand the physics of recharging. No one can teach you even how it work in theory nevermind how it works in actual real life. London cabs are going electric BY DECREE, not because it is more economical, something you seem unaware of.

limo services dont run 24 hrs a day, moron.

But how about this... Go buy an EV then come back and tell it how it works out for you in real life. You wont of course. You zealots NEVER do.

Ohh moron again..... dam u must feel threatened....

ok a tesla S has 100kwh battery it does 600km's with that battery
A super charger is 120kw, that is 20kw every 10 min or 120kms, so 50 mins for 480km's but I remember saying  give it 2 hours, please instead of saying I'm a zealot try showing me where I am wrong.........
Also in case u didn't notice I said that in Australia a EV wouldn't make a good taxi, but hay don't let that stop you....
And please show me how it would take 8 hours to charge a Tesla 500km's, with a supercharger either public or the business one Tesla will install? The physic's and real life as u say, you have made the point now prove it.....
Or is there a Zealot here that  when even shown evidence wont change their mind ?

You've already been show and PROVEN that tesla does not allow a car to be supercharged very often before they automatically slow it down dramatically to protect the battery. Also as previously shown, you ignorant moron, superchargers are very rare.

When a taxi company wants to put in 10 superchargers in their office then fine although how they get a 1MEGAWATT connection might be interesting.

You dont really drive much, do you. You tow a caravan. IMagaine if you had some actual plans to go some distance away from the superchargers that currently dont even exist and will never exist in most places in australia.

There is a reason almost no one buys EVs in this country and not many more buy them anywhere else.

Ohhh u mean the one customer that had constantly recharged on super charger and after a few hundred times the slowed it down so it took five minutes longer.
Did u read the artical u put up ? It also said that happened less than 1% of the time and if it was charged in a home charger once and awhile it never gets slowed.
What has been proven?
Ohh u mean the super chargers between Adelaide and brisbane?
Still haven’t answer how the battery takes 8 hours to charge, a lot of hot air but not much lift.

Well the last post it shows all the chargers around Australia, I guess u didn’t  look at that.

it didnt slow it down ONE percent. did you even read the article? And it remains the fact that having a handful of superchargers scattered around the country is no comparison to the 25000 petrol stations dotted... EVERYWHERE.

as for homechargers... what power do you think you can get from home? IF you have threephase you might be able to get 25kwhrs which means a full charge takes.... four hours. If you only have a 7kw charger you are talking 14 hours.

Dont you yet understand that the problem with EVs is not about where superchargers ARE, but rather, where they ARENT.

The Kittyhawk only flew a couple hundred metres. Aviation will never take off, said the Longweakends of the time. Yeah, prophetic, not.

haha and utterly invalid comparison.

Horses were replaced by something vastly superior on all counts so obviously people replaced horses

EVs are trying to replace something that is cheaper, more flexible and with less limitations so obviously people are NOT replacing petrol with electric cars.

Once again, I am not ideologically opposed to EVs. I am at my core, a pragmatist who objects to being told things that are objectively false like 'EVs are better than petrol cars'
