if they where readily available id get one, I'm actually hoping to get a Hyundai Kona if they actually bring them to Australia, worldwide was a million of EV's sold, so Australia a few years behind,
Ohh and I Have a 5.5 kva solar roof and on a good day I put about 10 kva back into the grid so i only need 7kva to power a new electric car 40kms which is the average a car is driven a day in Aus
I cant afford a Tesla and the cheep one is still years away for aus , so just have to wait.

why bother when you can run cars from electricity you generate from your own rooftop ?

Unlike you, I actually have a solar PV system - a 10Kw one. One think you quickly learn is that it only generates when the sun is up and for most people who work out of the home, that means they cannot charge their car at home during the day when theyir car isnt at home.

ALSO... a Home PV system is largely meant to power... *drum roll*  THE HOME. My system i double the average size and in inclement weather like over the weekend i generated only 16kwhr of power, not even enough to power my house so the power for this EV would have to come from the grid.  During mid-summer, this might work but once again, I have to actually be at home to charge my car instead of being out and about having fun in the sun.

As always, you talk without knowlege or experience.

yeh what a hypocrite. Ask your hypocrite mate Malcolm about his installation. Much bigger than yours with plenty of battery backup. Wouldn't have been possible at those prices if you lot had of been in charge with your f.cked up policies Sad

So, that was NO about owning an EV???  of course it is.  and is it NO about having a home solar system??  Of course it it.

you are pure hypocrite and general ignoramous.

so now the whole debate will be about whether or not one person out of 7 billion on the planet owns a solar PV system Cheesy LOL

and you supposedly own a PV system which creates FREE energy you don't have to pay for and then you bag it.

on the other hand you own a polluting old clunker which you have to pay through the nose for its energy needs and then you sing the praises of it Cheesy LOL

who's the hypocrite ??

It's about wankers like you who spend a decade (at least) screaming about how good EVs are but wont actually buy one. It is about utter lowers like you who complain bitterly about fossil fuel electricity generation but wont get a solar system themselves.

You are the ultimate tosser who never once does what he complains others wont do.

Lostnail wont trade in his 78 Volvo for anything, its only done 600,000 k. Plus his landlord wont put solar in his rented weatherboard house. His Amway multi level marketing business is doing well though and one day he may trade up.

Yeah. Only USD 90 below the 12month high. That will really make them happy.

And still worth more than 50 billion and years of pre orders and highest selling luxury car in USA and now the 3 is the highest selling electric car in USA ,with no competition for years to come . So far in the first quarter 50% increase of car production.
They must be struggling

Those addicted to fossil fuels slag off Tesla but they are doing alright, big pre-orders, production ramping up etc.

Next year the SUV and maybe the semis?

Batteries getting better all the time too.

Nissan Leaf is also ramping up. GM and Ford will find it hard to switch to EVs.

The companies in Australia are like that because we simply don't have the economic resources, employment power or technological availability that other countries. The extensive supply of workers paid at low wages, with extensive technologies and finance being injected into companies in China, India and the like cause this imbalance. Quite simply Australian companies can no longer compete.
