it figured that 6kwh or energy is used for every gallon of finished product from crude oil. not all is electricity, but again that's only one argument, the article has many arguments and in them all it shows it takes a lot of effort

Yeah. On VERY rubbery figures. Wink

For ALL refinery products.

I'll leave you to Mass Debate. Wink

what about shipping the crude across the ocean using the most inefficient and polluting means of transport ?? Does that not count considering that people can generate FREE energy from their own rooftops and charge up their own EV's from it ?

Well, I think that is the crux of the very point: I don't think renewable energy could ship crude across the world!

Australia seams to supply 5% of our crude oil , be nice if lower demand so only Australian oil was used.

Keep buying oil from the middle east ?
Lots of u guys seam to be good at putting all these things down, what positive things can be used in the future with our transport ?

The Insanity of Musk:

When young people realise just how fast EVs can accelerate the demand for EVs will skyrocket.

Instead of building electric cars here the libbos would rather have more people making cups of coffee and realtor scumbags running around in their imported BMW's. That's the libbos bullshit service economy driven by piles of debt that can never ever be payed back Sad

Christmas in Australia is always interesting.

The place is full of people that don't give a shite about each other but you all laugh when you realise it's just a microcosm of the friggin' country.

It's all a consequence of knowing most of us actually do rather pointless jobs, hence the aloofness to reality trying to maintain a degree of semi-import.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Interesting times indeed, ...indeed!!

Unlike you, I actually have a solar PV system - a 10Kw one. One think you quickly learn is that it only generates when the sun is up and for most people who work out of the home, that means they cannot charge their car at home during the day when theyir car isnt at home.

ALSO... a Home PV system is largely meant to power... *drum roll*  THE HOME. My system i double the average size and in inclement weather like over the weekend i generated only 16kwhr of power, not even enough to power my house so the power for this EV would have to come from the grid.  During mid-summer, this might work but once again, I have to actually be at home to charge my car instead of being out and about having fun in the sun.

As always, you talk without knowlege or experience.

yeh what a hypocrite. Ask your hypocrite mate Malcolm about his installation. Much bigger than yours with plenty of battery backup. Wouldn't have been possible at those prices if you lot had of been in charge with your f.cked up policies Sad
