It's tricky. Even using the word "black" is starting to carry more and more risks. To be safe, "African-American" is the only way to go.

Is that like not fully American, part American?

My oldest son had a girlfriend years ago, her mum was a red headed pom, her dad was "African-American", even though he has lived here for almost ever. He's Australian and still describes himself(well last I heard) as African-American. What the F is with that shyte?

I would think if you were American that's all you were. It seems the same crap is getting traction here with hyphenated Australians. This is mental segregation based on your heritage, not on nationality.

If you are around normal blacks, male, in informal situations then the word "black" is preferable but in other situations, particularly around black women, a white man really has to be careful.

I hate the word "Caucasian" and when I hear it used I sometimes will ask "What is a Caucasian? Oh, you mean me? I am not Caucasian. I don't even know where Caucus is."

I would say yes.

I had a neighbour with a girl who was totally dependent on her parents for everything for 16 years, when the lift in the building wasn't working he had to carry her and her wheelchair up to the 8th floor.

She died when she was 16 it did her elderly parents a huge favour it freed up their lives.

If i was going to have another child that would never have any real quality of life abortion would have to be given some serious consideration.
