I was under the impression that the idea of car racing was to watch, well, cars race.   It wasn't to watch girls in skimpy clothing parade around the track.   You know, if you want to watch pretty girls in skimpy dresses, there are better places to do it.  Indeed, you can watch them without any clothing at all, on the Internet.   Have fun kiddies.  Tsk, tsk.

Did you pop your blow up girlfriend?

Of course, the formula one racing is mainly about racing. But there is nothing wrong with adding a bit of glamour to the event. It is the reason why you see fit healthy young people doing those Coca-Cola commercials and not those of the overweight figure and stained teeth type who would likely be among the main purchasers of the product.

The main trigger in our masculine psychology with these car races is the fantasy of our primal urges being entertained to go really fast and to be the best. Among those primal urges are the ideas that we can attract females for being the best competitor. Hence the reason why promoters give the male audience what they want complete with attractive females.

The feminazis do nothing for the motor racing industry by taking one of the glamour elements out of the promotion of motor racing. Apparently, we have to tread carefully with the fragile feelings of women. Those women seem more concerned about being outclassed by other model women who look better than them. Models are getting the jobs that the feminazis can't, and it is hurting their feelings.

Funny how you perceive it as "glamour" while others perceive it as pointless and demeaning, USR.   Oh, well, each to their own.  I suppose you enjoy watching real life slave auctions and dog fights?   Of course, as long as they have a pretty lass in skimpy clothing in them.    Roll Eyes

Well, I do like watching a good boxing match. And those leggy models that show off the round number do add to the primal nature of the contact sport. Don't make a strawman argument you can't defend and then say it is my argument. It does not work that way.

You would probably be the type of guy who would change from colour televisions to black and white televisions voluntarily for the sake of not glamourising whatever is on television.

I have been known to turn the colour off on the TV when there is a colourised version of a Black and White classic movie on.   Not quite as good as the original but for entertainment value it works for me.

The spectacle of an event is not "glamorised" by the addition of skimpily clad people.  It detracts from the event.  So, should we have skimpy clad females (or males) at the Opening of Parliament?  How about in the High Court?   Does that work for you?    Roll Eyes

Its obvious that the slugs and far from athletic trolls on this forum do not understand sport, its customs and the wonderful feeling of being a winner.

The whole shaking of the champagne and spraying it all over the losing competitors is more than a metaphor.
The masculinity and superiority of sports people who win over the other plebs is on display and there for the looking.

We worship excellence in form and function and women are instinctively attracted to winners and superior men.

But of course the self loathing trolls and PC brigade would never know this.
To win over others, to be seen and hailed as the winner is a serious Adrenalin rush, one these losers would never experience.
So because they don't know what it is like, they want no one else to feel this feeling of winning.

They prefer to try and bring everyone else down to their pathetic level.
"There are no winners or losers"  what a load of crap.
"Everyone gets a medal for participating" No wonder no kids excel these days.

Life is meant to be experienced and any normal human will push the boundaries so as to challenge themselves.
Women are rightly attracted to these men, but again losers and trolls have never been attractive to them.

The pit girls love what they do.
They get close to the winners, they often go onto modelling careers (another PC target).

And I can tell you from experience.
Winning a tournament, grabbing a chick who is infatuated with you after watching you fight and win.
Never will you get better sex.

I feel so sorry for the losers and trolls who will just never know what its like.

I think you are overcompensating, Brian. To have something available in colour rather than black and white, it is a privilege. I have just watched "Grapes of Wrath" this morning -- I think I mentioned that. Had this movie been colourised for my convenience, I would have been happier.

As for skimpy clad females at the opening of Parliament, I think that would be a poor idea. There is no appeal to masculinity in the Parliament. Trust me, I have met some of the federal politicians. Parliament is supposed to be a sober event. Unless the politicians want to host boat races around Lake Burley Griffin at the close of Parliament, then the bikini clad women are not needed.

The one thing I am very glad about is that Citizen Kane - the greatest movie ever made - will never be colourised, USR.   Why?  Because of the richness of it's Black and White tapestry.   I suggest you watch it with an open mind and get back to us.  I have watched colourised movies - in colour - and found the colours chosen to be somewhat wanting in their application.  The originals, in Black and White were far richer and you concentrated far more on the acting of the protagonists than on the scenery they were acting in.   Colour has it's place but so does Black and White.

Ah, so there are limits to viewing skimpily clad females, in your view?

I would suggest that the "appeal to masculinity" is an appeal to the baser instincts of some men, rather than all men, USR.   I find women appealing but it depends on the circumstances.  Using sex to sell a product - in this case entertainment and sport, indicates that in reality, the product isn't as appealing as is claimed.   I'd suggest you check whether or not watching men (and women) racing around a track is really what you want to watch or is it the skimpily clad women (and/or men).   If it's the former, then you don't need the skimpily clad women being shoved in your face, now do you?    Roll Eyes
