These casualty lists are dismissed by some, as the straight civil crime that should be dealt with in court, or acts by Muzlims who mis-interpret the Koran. Islam has no central authority, which is convenient, because no one can be blamed, if the Koran is mis-interpreted.

Not too many intelligent people can honestly say this is not about religion. It started in the 1980s when various sects, who could not agree on anything else, decided to look for a way to address the Muzlim loss of self-esteem after Israel beat them 3 times. They did this with the Koran, identifying all non-believers as conspirators against Islam.

But the other idea that has been touted below, is that somehow these casualty lists are not valid because most, if not all, these atrocities happen in war zones. That suggestion is indecent, and shows some people will clutch at any straw. It does not take into account thousands in Nigeria, the Philippines, France, Germany, Belgium, UK, USA, Thailand, China, India, etc, etc who have been the victims of Mohammedans in the last 30 years.

Yes, its a war zone, Islam against itself and the Infidels, which ever is conveniently close by. But the defenders of Islam say its not, its just bad guys who should be in jail.

Their ridiculous proposition is always that not all Muzlims are terrorists. In philosophy that is what is called sophistry. Half a truth used to appear relevant. And while they stoop that low to win their argument, they condone these non-violent Muzlims remaining silent in the face of one atrocity after another.

Here is the problem with religion in general. Absolutely anything can be interpreted within any framework and within any part of the bible. I am not religious and thus have no favouritism towards any. What needs to be understood is Christianity was created in a time (1st century) where war, conflict etc. was not as prevalent compared to the highly volatile war filled environment Islam was conceived in. Additionally the Sunni and Shi'a divide aided in this futility. Don't agree but understand the differences.

To the passage you cited, yes it is confronting and quite violent. But there is no specific reference to death or killing rather just instilling fear in the lives of those who don't believe. Nothing Christianity didn't do throughout the 1900's and even today (if you don't believe you are a bad person and will go to hell) Once again my point is proven further, the whole passage is completely up to interpretation whether that be literal or metaphorical.

Additionally you have seemed to negate my notions of the contexts in which the religions were conceived, can you not agree that had some influence?

I can provide some quite crude and horrific bible passages which can be interpreted to conduct such acts....once again the interpretation game.

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 references the rape of a woman and how one must pay her father and marry her because of such actions.

Jgs. 19-21 references rape.

2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Pet. 1:19-21 implications are made.

In the case of Islam there is the Quran and the Hadith, both which can be interpreted by individuals in a wrongful and violent way as the Bible can be in Christianity. On this note the location and thus lifestyle that countries provide is a contributing factor for many Muslims growing up a war torn and countries ravaged with hate, violence and terror. In many cases people turn to such groups as ISIS, are converted to such groups as ISIS, are killed by such groups as ISIS, or flee to such countries as Australia.

To gain statistics from the general populous of Muslims in regards to if they oppose extremist groups, what they regard are valued etc... is very different to trying to gain statistics on extremists who join these organisations which are highly secretive and violent. Lets draw a distinction.
