Sometimes it happens many times in a row of attempts to click on a post or topic. Yours sounds worse Nom De Plume!

What adverts? I never see any.

Pale Moon (which I now use instead of Firefox) + NoScript + uBlock Origin = WIN!!!

And, I only allow just enough (temporary) scripting with NoScript to allow me to log on and post here.

Any site that gives me a "sorry, you're not allowed to look unless you enable scripting and/or disable your adblocker" can go jump in the lake... I'll just look elsewhere, thank you.

Especially with the Spectre and Meltdown security issues hitting the fan at the moment.

Are you sure that has anything to do with this site. That feels more like you have some malware ad popup on your system. This happened to me before and was a pain to remove.

Do you have these symptoms on other sites or just here.

I use Edge and do not have the problem.

Are you sure that has anything to do with this site. That feels more like you have some malware ad popup on your system. This happened to me before and was a pain to remove.

As the left side of my brain known as .JaSin. is banned,
I am answering with my right hemisphere...

It only happens on this OzPol site. Nowhere else.
But ironically today, at this moment - it hasn't happened at all yet (touch wood) strangely.
But all previous times for two weeks now - that bloody Konishi advert 'intercepts' nearly every click. Sometimes I have to re-click on something 3-4 times before the advert doesn't come up. Very frustrating (waste of data).
I don't think such a marketing strategy of 'persistence' is a successful one as now I would definitely 'not' by anything from Konishi. Lol!

Definitely ain't gonna click on it! Or being 'banned' cleanses one's soul of adverts? Regardless - it was like having Malaria when nearly every click resulted in ...Konishi. I hate Konishi.
