Today on THE DRUM, i watched Jacinta Price [an Alice Springs Councillor], speaking on the Australia Day debate.

What an sensible woman, a young Aboriginal woman.

Essentially, Jacinta Price was making the argument, that [all other] Australians shouldn't be expected to change the date of Australia Day, because a minority group are claiming to be offended by the current date of Australia Day [and what it represents, TO THEM].
She argued that if we did so, we would be senselessly pandering to people, because, they claim to be offended [over some issue].
i.e.
She argued, should we [or the majority] always be expected to change everything [else, also] in Australia, whenever a noisy minority claim to be offended ['emotionally' upset] over something ?
i.e.
She argued, that with such 'emotionally' upset people, there will doubtless be claim after new claim of 'offense' over some new additional issue.
And instead of pandering to the emotions of such people, shouldn't those who are always claiming to be 'offended' [claiming to be 'emotionally' upset over something new] learn to deal with their own emotions?

Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, what a sensible, young woman [on this issue].
