I despise Islam. Does that make me racist?

I do not want muslims to come to Australia because they do not want to accept any of our values, they believe it is their divine mission to impose their values on every living person on earth, or kill them if they refuse.

Deny that, and you are denying their beliefs.

I also despise Christians, but I just do not think they will try and kill my grandkids.

Sounds to me like you've never actually met a Muslim.

I know many, and none of them think like that.

Not a single one.

Then you don't know that many Muslims.
What percentage of Muslims live in Perth?
42% in Sydney
31% in Melbourne

8% in Perth.

I know many Muslims.

Far more than you, and none of them think that way.

I've talked to dozens over the years, in different states and different countries, and not a single one of them has ever said that they want to kill anyone.

You need to stop watching the 6 o'clock "news".

I've wandered through that area plenty of times and there is a element that one has to be careful of. Most people are peaceful but it's that anti australian minority who are the issue. It's a pity the whole community gets painted i suppose. It's not the most aussie friendly suburb.

Never had a problem.  Was always welcomed and spoken to by the locals quite happily.   Again, people sense when others are hostile to them and they react.  If you're open, polite and respectful then no one bothers you and that is the key.  I expect some people here are openly hostile towards those they don't like.  Tsk, tsk.    Roll Eyes

My mate had a brick thrown through his window at Christmas Brian. Knocked his tree over. There is an element.

And what was his attitude towards the Muslims before the brick was thrown through his window, Hammer?

Perhaps the person who threw the brick wasn't even a Muslim.  What proof do you have that they were?

Instead of innuendo, how about some evidence, Hammer, for a change...   Roll Eyes

He is one of the most friendly peaceful people you'd ever meet. It's not the majority but that doesn't discount the minority. I've known plenty of people who have moved out of SW Sydney and they don't have many fond memories of their Lebanese interactions.

Hehehe.
I believe every Australian muslim lover needs to go for a walk through sydney south west spreading Christmas cheer.

The South-West has more flashing Christmas lights than any other area I've seen. So does Auburn and Granville. If you ask me, there's too much Christmas cheer.

I blame Islam, no?

And that was because the Lebanese were following some obscure dictate of the Prophet to drive out non-Muslims was it?    Get real, Hammer.  Some Lebanese are very nice.  Some are nasty people.   Personally, I put it down to their experiences (and their parents') in the civil war in the 1980s.   Nice people seem to not have won in that conflict...   Nothing to do with Islam though.    Roll Eyes

I believe it's a combination of reasons. A big cultural/religious issue with  Lebanese families is that the  boys grow up treated likes gods with too much freedom. The girls mostly stay at home. So many have poor discipline at home which follows them into society. Plus unemployment issues etc.

So, then, nothing to do with religion then?  My goodness!  Muslims with non-Islamic problems!   What a wonder!   Roll Eyes

A number of the Muslims I have worked with took me years to work out or be told that they were Muslim, they must have been converting me with telepathy ?

In fact they did a great job at being normal Australians. Well almost normal they didn't drink alcohol at the pub.
