Their policies have not changed - they seek to divide and conquer their enemies with the military might they have purchased, produced and received. The Palestinians were initially a cause celebre' for the Arabs surrounding Palestine, then they became a thorn in the sides of the Arabs, now they are an embarrassment. The Palestinians have fought the Israelis to a standstill. The Israelis are slowly ethnically cleansing the region - getting the Palestinians out of their homeland and forcing them off their plate. You didn't answer the question. And you do know that in many cases arabs are selling the jews the land. I don't like Zionists either but I recognise that there are 2 sides to this story.

There are two, three, four, five sides to every story, Hammer. However, the general story is that the Zionists created Israel on the basis of a lie. They got the British/French/Americans/Russians/etc. to help create the modern state of Israel on the basis that Palestine was an empty land and had no people in it. This completely ignored the existence of the Palestinians. No consultation was undertaken, no effort to include the Palestinians in this new nation.

Now, we cannot turn the clock back. Israel exists today. However it also controls the Occupied Territories, which it invaded in 1967 and took over. It is making a concerted effort, with the connivance of the Americans to engage in Ethnic Cleansing. Now, if it wasn't OK for the Serbs to do that to the Croats and the Bosnians and the Slovenians, it is not OK to have the Israelis doing that to the Palestinians. There are numerous other examples of Ethnic Cleansing, including the Turks against the Armenians which have raised the ire of the world. Yet the world is silent about the plight of the Palestinians. The conflicts in that area are historically tribal. Prior to Christianity, and later, Mohammedanism, those tribes were often at war. The religions have re-enforced the tribalism, but the Jews have as much right to establish a state as any of the other tribes. They have succeeded where the inferior culture of the Arab tribes never actually tried. You cannot argue with results. Can you imagine what that area would be like today, had the Arabs won the six day war? The so-called Palestinians are Arabs and Muzlims, and drag around the ball and chain of their own superstition, ignorance and tribal vindictiveness.

Mmmm, Israel to recognise the existence of the Palestinian state in exchange for a peace treaty with the Palestinians. For Israel's settlers to either leave the Occupied Territories or to become full citizens of the Palestinian state (and swear allegiance to it). For the Israelis to return all the Palestinian lands which they have stolen outside of Israel (proper) to their original owners. Exiled Palestinians to be accorded the automatic Right of Return to either state as would be Jews as well. For Israel not to declare itself an exclusively Jewish State and the Palestinians not to declare themselves an exclusive Muslim state. Jerusalem to be declared the join capital of both Israel and Palestine. For both sides to pay the other any compensation owed. For both sides to not attack each other. For both sides to live in peace and harmony.

The Palestinians have recognised the right for the state of Israel to exist. Time for the Israelis to recognise the right of the state of Palestine to exist. Roll Eyes

Not sure what you mean, FD. I am holding Israel to the standard I hold all nations to - that of decency. They can conscript who they like but in failing to conscript the Palestinians, the Israelis, according to Moshe Dayan - their most senior General - made a grave mistake. Exiled Palestinians to be accorded the automatic Right of Return to either state as would be Jews as well. For Israel not to declare itself an exclusively Jewish State and the Palestinians not to declare themselves an exclusive Muslim state. Jerusalem to be declared the join capital of both Israel and Palestine. For both sides to pay the other any compensation owed. For both sides to not attack each other. For both sides to live in peace and harmony.

The Palestinians have recognised the right for the state of Israel to exist. Time for the Israelis to recognise the right of the state of Palestine to exist. Roll Eyes

Israel has a large population of Arab Muslims. They have been there from the beginning. They have more rights and freedoms in Israel than in any other Arab country.

But they are still treated as second-class citizens, Soren, by the Jewish Israelis... They are not subject to conscription in the Israeli Defence Forces. They are not allowed to serve. Their property rights are not respected. Nice sort of citizenship...
