I'm not at all shocked or surprised by this.

Now let's fast forward to 1920.

When my maternal grandmother and her entire family including brothers/sisters/aunts/uncles/cousins etc were being genocided by Muslims in their own country ffs....these Muslims were targeting girls under 10. Why? They were fair game.

I could go on but it's very distressing. My poor grandmother personally witnessed and suffered so much grief/torture/loss at the hands of Muslims.

And she cried like a little kid when she recounted every single barbaric episode to me.

If the Arabs made the contact between the old and the new world inevitable by cutting Europe off from the rest of civilisation, do they bear any responsibility for the introduction of diseases?

Why does the blame hinge on intentions that had nothing at all to do with disease? If the disease was introduced to the Americas be people trying to find a trade route to India, who do you blame?

I refuse no such thing FD. The blame "goes" as far as the people who are doing the raping and pillaging. Let me know if you are still having difficulty with this concept.

Also I blame people for raping - real or metaphorically, and the consequences of that rape. The Europeans "raped" the people of South American, Africa etc - as in they invaded, slaughtered and pillaged their land for resources. They are to blame for the diseases that come with that (deliberately spread or not) - in exactly the same way as a literal rapist is to blame for the infectious diseases he spreads as a result of forced intercourse (known or not). And believe it or not, it really is possible to understand this logic without even thinking about race. I recommend giving it a go.
