The warnings were out about a 2.8m swell up here... some people just don't listen...... then they go rock fishing or peering into the Kiama Blowhole from two feet away..... or set sail in a tinny with a 5hp motor to catch some fish when the waves are eight feet high.... or go flying in their homebuilt when severe thunderstorms are predicted....

Unpatrolled beach, horrible conditions with 10 rows of foam. If the guy who died has a family,  the father of the boys should pay a stipend to his family for life.

greater love hath no man then to lay down his life for his friends.

to lay down your life for a stranger is the pinnacle of contribution, the zenith of the narrow road to success.

this is a great story to "vibe" with .

we should hear more of such amazing contributions and less from the butt hurt complainers with their "me,me,me and my rough little story" narrative.

the reason we dont hear as much about these stories is that most people ARE part of the "me,me,me and my rough little story" narrative and a media outlet that just broadcast the "inspirational stories" would be out of business.
we will get more of these stories when people start to climb and go into contribution.
until then expect the media to be full of "climate change, car accidents, fires , murders, rapes, rising power bills, gossip and complaining"

good post gordon  Wink

Yes drownings happen but the father was negligent and someone has paid for it with their life.

The ocean was an angry place yesterday and only an idiot would not have noticed.

Speeding has a possible risk for an individual and a measurable effect when viewed across a population.

I don't know exactly what the conditions were like at that beach yesterday, but at Bondi it a mass of boiling angry water and the result of letting a child swim in the ocean would be a 99.9% chance of the child needing to be rescued.

The father was an idiot for letting his kids near the water.

this from the media....

No flags, no swim. It’s a simple message, but it just doesn’t get through.”
