Don't forget to sue Nurofen for compensation.

I bought their fraudulent tablets for migraine - with zero beneficial results.

I'm registering as a victim of their fraud, and I suggest the rest of you do also.

I never fell for that and have been buying generic for ages.

Might register just to give them a pain in the balls.  Is there a nurofen for ball pain?

I'm actually not telling little porkies. I did buy the Nurofen for migraine between the years mentioned, and I can get a signed note from my doctor that I am a sufferer of migraine. In fact today I had to take a Prodeine Forte 500mg / 30mg (Paracetamol / Codeine) to help reduce the impact of a blinder.

It didn't relieve the pain half as much as your oral massage, though.

Thanks again, Booby    Kiss

Who wouldn't read the ingredients on the label?

Oh. Sorry, Herb.

A moot point, but these products were on the shelves of tens of thousands of pharmacies across the world, with tens of thousands of chemists and their assistants acting as agents to ensure their customers were not being diddled.

In order to make the comparisons, customers would have to start handling other Nurofen packets on the shelves.

The company got caught profiting from a massive fraud involving pains suffered by millions of people, and as such there should be extensive jailings of the principal players.

Ditto !

Some people are just incapable of taking control over what they eat and drink

If you read the labels on - so called - "lite" pre packaged foods, you'll find a small reduction in fat content is off-set by a big increase in sugars (as a meaans of restoring palatability)

These "lite"versions are the MUCH LESS HEALTHY alternative

But you just CAN'T HELP some people

Point well made, but ... we're not all paranoid about diet, and Climate Change, and Safe Spaces, and the sanctity of anal sex within marriage vows (bowels?), and suchlike.

So just ask the pharmacist if there is a generic that would do the same thing.

These days I find the best pharmacists are the young ones in the Chemist Warehouse type places. The older pharmacists in the small independent ones probably own or have a share in the business and will point you towards the higher margin brands, but the ones who work in the chain stores seem like recent graduates and are just employees who are probably a bit more ideologically pure than the older one who's trying to stuff as much money into his super so he can retire in 10 years.

I genuinely feel sorry for you Herbie, having to endure migraines. Terrible, terrible things.

However, didn't you ever think to yourself "How does the drug know where my pain is?".

When I first saw those products hit the shelves, that's exactly what I asked myself and my answer was "It can't!".

I checked the ingredients on the boxes, and sure enough, they were all exactly the same.

It's the same with generic drugs.

You can buy Panadol in Woolworths for $4, or buy the generic brand for 70 cents.

They both have 20 tablets, each containing 500mg of paracetamol.

Why would anyone pay $4?

I've never understood that.

When I first saw the different 'flavors' of Nurofen, I assumed they had ibuprofen + an additional ingredient applicable for what it's being touted for, like the back pain ones having a muscle relaxant etc. Then when I saw a TV ad with graphics and text saying it 'targets' your pain, my BS detector went off.

Yeah, that's what made me pay attention too.

How the hell can a drug target pain?

I'm just shocked that it took so long for others to catch on.
