I have shown how to test for warming.

If we want to test the greenhouse effect—the A part of AGW:

Theory: gaseous molecules with three or more atoms are greenhouse gases, absorbing and re-emitting IR in their respective parts of the IR band. Because molecules spin the IR could be re-emitted in any direction.

Alternative hypothesis: Less IR radiation reaches space, more is reflected back to the surface

Null hypothesis: The amount of IR that reaches space or the surface is independent of the concentration and make up of GHGs in the atmosphere.

Test: measure IR in space and the surface over time which means over higher GHG concentrations. Difference between means could be used.

We know from the Harries and Feldman papers discussing their findings that less IR makes its way to space and more is reflected back to the surface with increasing GHG concentrations. We therefor must reject the null hypothesis and accept the alternate.

In there we use isotopic analysis of atmospheric carbon and find the extra CO2 is anthropogenic.

AGW is real.

Q.E.D.

It is clear Lees does not have a credible theory on temperature rises being due to natural variation. He quoted a weird article based on cycles. Supposed to start cooling down from “now” except the “now” was a couple of years ago and it has gotten warmer Grin

Not just that, the sun has been in its quiet state since the ’80s and still it warms.
