The opposite to what we would expect. Poor Lees, clinging to some crap based on a change in base year for anomalies or something. Maybe poor old Lees believes GISS? 1.2°C temperature increase since 1880.

Oh dear. Standardised temps? Is that the same as homogenised temps? Using ACORN-SAT "data"? Where it has been shown that the homogenisation temps bear no realtion to reality? Grin

Oh dear and the orderly room clerk still thinks 1997 was the hottest year. Guess back then it was almost a tie between 2010 and 2014.

To me the question is not very interesting. 2016 was hotter than both 2014 and 2010 and 1998. The globe, clearly, is warming and it is warming because we are burning fossil fuels.
