That is a WMO definition.

Note that this well accepted definition raises many questions. Why is it 30 years (and not 300 years) ? Of course, there are practical reasons such as the length of homogenized and good quality climate data sets. But there are also more fundamental reasons that relies on a possible separation between fast and slow variations, the fast variations being usually unpredictable climate variability, and the slow ones being deterministic climate change due for instance to external influence. 
Although it is not possible to specify exactly where this potential separation lies, there are suggestions that it is somewhere between 10 and 100 years.

And many vignerons are finding warmer climates are affecting their grapes.

Wineries now have to manage carefully during vintage because grapes are reaching the winery at nearly the same time. Grapes in subregions are all ripening together.

Hence Italian varieties being planted, hence mainland wineries ody thabplanting vineyards in Tassie etc.

Anyone who wants to can see the effect of long term warming. I suggest anybody really interested in how AGW is hitting the man on the land watch Landline on the ABC while it is still being produced. Vignerons and wheat growers are two particular parts of primary production but others are noticing how the warmer weather affects their farms. No wonder the Murdoch grub now the head of the ABC wants to cancel Landline!

21 days out of 90 above 95 degrees? Wow! Rockhampton had 2 months above 95 degrees just this past summer. And you find temperatures that hot in Rockhampton on average.

They have 7 days out of 90 of hot weather in one decade. Then 21 days out of 90 for another of hot weather. And we are supposed to claim that this is evidence of temperatures heating up? But not just typical variances in weather for a selective decade.

In Rockhampton, I would constantly complain about hot summer weather being in excess of 40 degrees for up to 2 weeks. This was as a child. As an adult, I rarely see the temperatures go above 40 degrees very much. But I do see many 35 to 40 degree weeks-on-end maximums, like this past summer. Can I conclude that temperatures are going down? Such as 4 times this summer being above 40 degrees, compared to 15 days being above 40 degrees in 1990?
