Hotter and hotter?

It was 18 degrees when I got home, and now it's 16.

It's getting colder, man!

You see?

Even Gregg living over there on planet 'Western Australia' KNOWS when he's being scammed and made a dupe of.

Monk's answer to my post would be, "that's weather, you idiot, not climate".

My question to Monk is, "who decided where weather stops and climate starts?"

I am, most genuinely, curious.

Or is it just the conservatives rabid fear of change?

Hotter and Hotter is not a problem.

Tell us when it's getting Colder and Colder, and then we'll start worrying.

Hmmmm

We were scheduled for cold weather starting mid next millenium but our pouring GHGs into the atmosphere has changed that.

One good thing from AGW?

Love you clowns arguing. Reminds me of the monkey house at a zoo, no sense.  Wink

People swarm our beaches whenever there's a warm day ... but I haven't yet seen them crowd the beaches when the temperatures get a bit chilly.

Warming? = Bring it on.

Cooling? = Turn on the heater.

You do realise that sea level rise recently accelerated and will again once Antarctica adds to the Greenland ice melt instead of gaining ice as it is still, barely doing now?

Why? Like Lees you just deflect and obfuscate.

I showed you evidence that GHGs block IR photons from escaping to space from the surface. I doubt you understood any of it but that did not stop you saying “No, doesn’t prove anything” or wtte.

Do you think I feel like trying to educate oafs who do not want to be educated? I don’t.

I went 100 rounds with Lees because it showed I had facts and deniers don’t. Don’t feel like doing that with you. Piss off Greg with your foul mouth!

If you really want to learn try this little book, even you should be able to afford it and you might even understand it if you try hard:

“A Global Warming Primer—Answering your questions about The Science, the Consequences, and the Solutions” by Jeffrey Bennett.

That is a WMO definition.

"Climate in a narrow sense is usually defined as the ‘average weather’, or more rigorously, as the statistical description in terms of the mean and variability of relevant quantities over a period of time ranging from months to thousands or millions of years. The classical period is 30 years, as defined by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). These quantities are most often surface variables such as temperature, precipitation, and wind. Climate in a wider sense is the state, including a statistical description, of the climate system. (IPCC definition).

Note that this well accepted definition raises many questions. Climate is here viewed as a statistical description, not as a dynamical system (We all know that the climate system is a physical system that varies at all time scales under its own intrinsic dynamics as well as under the influence of external forcing, the sun, volcanoes, anthropogenic influence). Why is it 30 years (and not 300 years) ? Of course, there are practical reasons such as the length of homogenized and good quality climate data sets. But there are also more fundamental reasons that relies on a possible separation between fast and slow variations, the fast variations being usually unpredictable climate variability, and the slow ones being deterministic climate change due for instance to external influence.
Although it is not possible to specify exactly where this potential separation lies, there are suggestions that it is somewhere between 10 and 100 years.

Comment at

https://www.researchgate.net/post/What_is_the_best_period_to_define_a_climate

I think 30 years too short.

Yeah, Lees, 30 years is too short unless there is a single cooler instance somewhere  Wink
